I'm not looking for buying advice, just interested what deals you guys have found.

In the last month I've scored:
- AKG K272 HD - $18 (yes, not a typo)
- AKG K553 - $65
- CAL! - $35
- Sennheiser HD 558 - $24.99
- Sennheiser Momentum 1.0 - $40

Why? Because I'm pretty new to the hobby and wanted to experience a lot of different sounds. With prices this cheap, there's almost no risk - I can just resell most later.

When you are ready to upgrade, here are some mid-fi steals:

HE500 can be had for $ 350. were $ 1000 TOTL cans when they first
came out. Difficult to beat for that $.

HE400i are only $ 200 used and are a wonderful detailed HP.

Really liked the u-shaped Fidelio F2 Used for under $ 200.
Rockin, EDM, etc. Exciting head bangers.

I just picked up a pair of V Moda crossfades for $ 140. nice travel HP
w/ a good u shape for fun listening.

enjoy!

They just weren't comfortable for me. The pads pushed on a weird spot behind one ear that gave me pain very quickly. The sound was good but a littler bassier than I like as well. I ended up returning them to Newegg. I tried to sell them initially because Newegg wanted a 15% restocking fee, but after nobody bought them on ebay I convinced Newegg to waive the fee.

Funnily enough, Bose stuff. I know the reputation the company has around these parts haha, but if their headphones weren't so overpriced, they would be quite good in a lower price bracket. Since Bose marketing is god-tier, a lot of people buy their products, and of course a lot of people sell theirs, so any local ad site is bound to have quite a lot. Mint condition QC25s for under 150 euro or SoundTrue Around-ears for well under 100 is pretty good for their sound, not to mention comfort-wise both of those are on another level entirely.

Logitech UE6000 - $40 - bought 3 for gifting. For bassheads but otherwise very good headphone. Too small of earcups for me.

HD250 / 540 / 560 can be had for very good used prices. I picked up a HD250 for $150.

HD650 - picked up for $150 Canadian !

HD700 - under $300 Canadian (easily one of fav headphone purchases so worth it)

In the last five months, I scored a new AKG K271 headphones on Amazon for $70, when they retail for $200 straight up. Plus, I got a some new Shure SRH 440 headphones on Ebay for $40, which retail at $100. Not a bad haul! I guess if you look long enough, there are audio companies/warehouses that need to get rid of old stock, and when they do, you hafta pounce!!!
