Glorious! Gavin was with me. He was impressed how the Plus5 sounded balanced out of the 1Z. :)

I'm currently using the Brise Audio adapter cable with mine. I was initially really happy using it with the uber and the Plus5 but I found that with extended listening, the bass became a bit overbearing. I have now switched to using the "standard " copper cable that came with the Plus5 and found it to be a bit better for longer sessions. Might give the Pentaconn adapter a try to see if I could get back to using the uber cable, but I'm a bit worried about the stress it would have on the DAP's 4.4 socket...

Interesting that you found the bass overbearing, Decreate. I didn't have any issue with that thus far. I'm assuming you are playing back using the direct settting? And I don't think there's any more stress on the 4.4 socket than with the Brise audio adapter. Or perhaps I didn't understand your concern? :)

Yes, I'm playing back using the direct setting...not really sure if it is the Brise Audio adapter that's causing it. The Brise Audio adapter is actually a male 4.4 plug with a short cable attached to it and at the other end of the cable is a female 2.5 plug.

The adapter is quite long, I'd be concerned about the headphone out jack whilst travelling. (personally)

What do you prefer with Plus5 Kiats, your AK380 or the new Sony? I'd rather a direct choice rather than 'they're both good in thier own way'. :)
