Hi All, my LH Labs geek pulse xfi giving buzzng sound so I suspect a hardware issues and since it is out of warranty I don't expect any response from lhlabs.

I really likes the pairing with my Ether C flow and now looking at balanced amp and Dac combo for ECF I have a chord mojo but I found xfi was more punchy and resolving, is any recommendation for Dac amp combo under a grand to give a perfectly pairing for Ether C Flow. Thanks.

epads. hmmm.... i said to myself listening to the smashing pumpkins and a hard day's night. i mean, ok, i get the difference - but i like the original pads a lot more. then i switched tracks with some acoustic jazz - 45 rpm blow yer mind pressing of Bill Evans' Moonbeams, and this brilliant recording under the ether flows with the original pads sounds superb. so i swapped to the Epads and - (drumstick! er, drumROLL!) superb PLUS!!! the wider soundstage and closer listen notched the experience up ever so slightly...and sweetly. now i get it. these suckers are a great ALTERNATIVE for "quieter" music. now, if that's true, they should be amazing with some small scale classical, right? that's a definitive "yup!" after listening to Bach Brandenburg Concertos (dunedin consort hi rez ). great with either pads, but the E pads win the day just as they did with the evans.. it's gonna be fun comparing with larger scale, more dynamic classical. time for The Bartok Concerto for Orchestra.

i like having two different flavors of Ether Flow from one pair of cans.

thanks Dan.

I love my Hugo with the Flows. You can get a used one on the classifieds for around $1000 or a little less these days.

QP1R with Flows for me. Love it.
And soon an QP2R is coming, balanced. Who knows, maybe even better.. I can't afford to upgrade that fast, but for someone who's in search right now maybe the wait will be worth it

well, this may seem like a weird one, but... i bought a resonessence labs herus ( a dac/amp dongle) used here for the give away price of 170 bucks (350 new). i liked it so much a bought a concero hp from them. that sounds great too. more refined, ya da ya da. but then i got my ether flows, which are now my favorite cans by a long shot. the flows sound wonderful from the burson solist in my main rig. but for portable, there is to my ears a magic synchronicity between the little Herus and the Either Flows. Have not however, heard the either c flow with any of this gear to know how it would go. all i can say is the humble Herus is smokin driving the ether flow, in every way. i like it as much and maybe more than the soloist with them, though that is wonderful and more than the concero, as the voicing of vocals is more in front with the herus, which i like.. as i said..weird.

i think the herus is one of those great bargains of audio that doesn't come often. 20 years ago we all said the same about entry level grados, and about the senn hd580 and 600. my new secret weapon for transportability around the house is the herus with my ether flows. in the heat of summer i expect my ie800's will take a front seat for that duty again.

I just went in the opposite direction. I had the Ether C Flow and ordered the Aeon after listening to them at Axpona so I sent the C Flow to convert to Flow.
Just got them back this week and love them. I personally like the Flow better.

I've bought an Ether C Flow from a fellow headfier - hopefully it comes at the end of the week.

How much did it cost to convert from Flow C to the Flow? Didn't even know that was a possibility, but might be something I would consider down the line.

I think it was $250 plus return shipping.
