I have a minimax that used Nichicon Muse bi-polar as output caps. I want to open up the sound a little more by changing the caps to Mundorf 680uf E-caps but there isn't much room in the case for that. The solution.....add external cap holders and mount the Mundorfs outside. Held down using some #4 screws. (does require drilling and tapping the case). http://partsconnexion.com/capacitor_ele_mundorf_bipol.html
Attached are STL files for cap holders. There are two versions, the shorter one holds a single cap, the taller version is for two caps (better bass, for low impedance phones such as Grados). DIY use only, please.
I printed my parts out of ABS using a Lulzbot Taz5. Set the bed temp to 96C so the bottom of parts don't warp. I think the final visual result might be a little better with white plastic, though.
Enjoy.
