Hi all Headfier!
I have been looking around for a long time on this forum for my perfect pair of portable headphone. It seems like not everyone is having the same taste of music as mine, so I think I'd better ask in specific.

Yeah, I'm an average college kid, so I think a portable & comfortable headphone for me is a must have. Since I love the koss ksc75, I think a comfortable and easy to carry around is likely to stay with me all the time. But I also listen on the bus, so isolation should be good.

Speaking of sound. I listen to many kind of music but focus on Chillstep, Electro, Jazz, vocal, r&b, rock and Piano. Wierd taste I know =) so I think a headphone with quite accurate sound, good emphasis on bass and (maybe) little warm and (surely) little airy is what I'm looking for. Also it should be a all arounder and can play everything from good to great.  It should also have a less tiring sound signature, meaning a little bit less agressive, but then doesn't lack the involving feeling or sound too distance. Soundstage is a welcome part too, not too close is okay.

Now I have some cans in my mind. The V moda M-80, Sennheiser Amperior (2 big contender lol). Also, I'm looking forward at the M-100, but agressive bass may not what I'm looking for. My budget is $200 and under. Since I found the Amperior refurbish at $200, it's considerable.

Some sample of what I'd like:
All kind of Justin Timberlake & Timbaland
The Ataris - Welcome the night album. Superb indie pop punk rock emo band lol
Made in Height band. Their vocal and instrument are so great!
Some random Jazz at Jazzradio.com
Gorillaz
Daft punk & Amin van Dam & David Guetta

This guys: super dope piano and beats! Also sometime dubstep lol

Waterflame. I love his electro vs Orchestra style!

Also Boyce Avenue and One Republic & Coldplay.
Omg I'm all arounder :D
If you guys have some suggestion, pls rep lol. I'm dying to find my perfect headphone! And sorry if I'm going too specific and, well, asking too much for a under $200 pair lol!

I'd amperior is the way to go since it's essentially an improved hd25 1-II which is an all-rounder.

Nah, your tastes aren't weird at all. Everyone has different tastes. Embrace diversity

I'm currently looking at dakmart.com
They carry thr manufacturer refurbished Amperior at 189$. That's soo nice.
But then I checked the review and see many negative vote. So what is your opinion?

read around a little. I've never heard of dakmart before, but did search up reviews on google and it looked quite scary. But the people in the thread say some useful stuff. Though I'd check for the current sennheiser certificate/warranty and stuff.

I found the Amperior on this site: http://vminnovations.com/Product_46888/Sennheiser-HD-25-Amperior-DJ-Pro-Monitoring-Headphones-Blue-Refurbished-.html?

OMG!!! A manufactory refurbished with $168 price tag! but doesn't come with guarantee, sadly.
Now I'm deciding between this and the brand new HD 25-1 II on amazon :D

What are you upgrading from? Though the hd25 1-II is made of plastic, it's been proven to last.

Read a review saying they sent the phones in nothing but a plastic bag and bubble rap. That'd bother me personally. If it has no guarantee/warranty from senn, I'd skip and go for the hd25 1-ii. You'd probably be already having a great upgrade w/ the 25

also comes in blue for the adidas original version.

I currently have a HD 439, some IEM and Koss ksc75.
I'm not really sure. I asked them and they said they will send the cans in their retail package

read one of the reviews and it said it came in a plastic bag, blegh. As long as they have the senn warranty and everything, I'd go for it. Otherwise, I'd just save myself the trouble and go for the hd 25 1-ii.
