My amp was a bit sensitive to EMI made evident by moving my hand close to the amp while amplifying a null signal. So I opened it up and added two foil screens on top and bottom of the amp using some electrical tape and glue. Thankfully the amp still works without EMI to boot.

I also scrapped my crappy long mini-2-mini cable with one with improved shielding and added 90 degree minijack adapters.

nice amp!

yeah, the foil should be connected to the ground... You can also try the altoids can for shielding.. works very well, and looks cool too...

so is your EMI problem gone now?
i don't think Al is that good of a conductor.
how about sheets of steel?
and yes, the shielding should be connected to GND.

My EMI problem is fixed to the extent that my hand doesn't make it hum and the only noise I hear is from source. I connected both sides to ground.

I definitely remember the TA as being something that could benefit from more shielding.

I think I should find a bigger source of EMI/RFI and test out a few mini-2-mini cables as well. I already scrapped one which had pretty much no shielding.
