Strangely not a penny. I live in the Channel Islands, but have always paid tax on imports from the US before. I'm not complaining mind you!

I bet the weather's better there! I also saw there's a brand of amps called Channel Islands.

Interesting fact...New Jersey is named after the island of Jersey in the Channel islands. There's also a place called Guernsey (the island I live on) in Illinois. Sarnia in Ontario is also named after Guernsey (it's an old name for it).

Funny you mention the channel islands amps, I have their VHP-1, which has a glowing review on innerfidelity, and I was wondering if it pairs well with the AEON, hopefully it does... but it does have an 11 ohm output impedance. I know output-imp. doesn't affect planars the same way but mrspeakers said its best to keep it under 2ohms. Should I get a new amp?

So does this mean that the build was not complete? Waiting on parts from vendors. Not a box issue? Forgive me but in my line of work, I tend to analyze things a tad much.

The build wasn't finished on day 1, we put out a number a day, which is why we said it would be 7-10 days after we started shipping to get through the pre-orders. But we had some rejected parts and were a few short so some units in the latter part of the build is awaiting components.

Just received notice that my order has been shipped out . My Aeon's will be at my pad by Saturday, I can not wait to hear them.

As it's the 23rd I think all preorders should be shipped within a week. Starting new products is always really hard, so we thank you for the patience.

Also, for anyone getting the headphones, should you have any questions about any aspect of the headphones' function or sound don't hesitate to contact me. ÆON has been a huge effort for us, and I want to make sure everyone is really satisfied and having a great experience.

Lastly, I think burn-in is faster on these than ETHER, perhaps as low as 100 hours. I'd be interested to hear your experiences...

Give it a try with your current amp and see how it pairs. It's ultimately your choice anyway. If you find yourself seeking something different in your audio presentation I'm sure there are plenty of people here that have had or will have had some good seat time with the Aeons able to give you suggestions

Yeah, I definitely waited a while before pulling the trigger. I figured I'd be among the last to get them, which is cool. But everyone talking about orders several hundred spots ahead of mine made me a little curious about ETA. Oh well, it gives me time to a listen to a few cans that will probably not remain in my collection after the AEONs arrive.
