I wish I was in the area for this event. Nothing even close here in Illinois.

I wish all my head-fi friends around the world could be here for it. Traveling from meet to Jams has brought me a lot of great friends

I'm strongly considering driving down from Vegas even though I've heard all of these before.  The opportunity to hear them all back to back is rare indeed and I don't expect it'll happen again...

We'll see what the wife says about that plan.  lol

I'm not sure how The HE-1 will be presented. I think the SHANGRILA is using the DAVE as a DAC. Some of the system presenters are bringing things I'm not privy to at the moment. I probably won't know until Monday when we begin setting up the rooms

Have you had the chance to get this clarified? I'm super excited for this nonetheless! It sounds like it will be an epic event.

So Sennheiser is using their own laptop with their HE-1 and does not allow the use of consumer products not provided by them.

HiFiMan is using my laptop and it's content with the Brooklyn DAC.

MrSpeakers is about to launch its announcement of what they are bringing in head-fi, FB, Twitter and Indtagram, Questyle is providing their own content and products but we are allowing the use of our Utopia with the Gold Stack. STAX 007 mkII and 009 is using the Hugo TT with their amp, Cavalli is using our laptop and content with the Abyss on the Liquid Tungsten. HeadAmp is using a stock Blue Hawaii with the STAX 009.

Well I've got a wicked cold so no driving down for me.  :frowning2:

Still, should be an epic event.  I hope folks that go take copious notes for those of us forced to live vicariously.  :-D

I was fortunate enough to attend yesterday's event, and what an epic event it was! How often do you get the chance to listen to some of the very top headphone rigs in the world? Hats off and many thanks to @TSAVJason, @mrspeakers, @warrenpchi, the good folks at The Source AV and the various vendors for making this happen. I had the pleasure of listening to the Sennheiser HE-1 and the MrSpeakers Ether E and Æon. I'll post my impressions of the Ether E and Æon in the respective threads, but the short summary is that to me the Ether E is one of the best headphones there is, period. And the Æon? It's astoundingly good, especially for the price - I placed my preorder after the event.

So, how does $55K worth of headphones sound? The Sennheiser HE-1 is exquisitely made with high-grade materials made like the luxury item that it is. The Carrara marble base is gorgeous! (BTW, Michelangelo refused to use anything but Carrara marble for his statues.) After all, it costs about the same as a new Mercedes E-class. It's very comfortable as well, but my hands were almost trembling picking up the headset - I better not break it!

The friendly folks at Sennheiser player a few preselected tracks. Norah Jones sounded like she was right in front of me and I felt like I was in the studio with the singers that Paul Simon uses as his backups. That's the impression that stayed with me the most: The HE-1 made me feel like I was in the studio when the recording was being made. And it didn't sound harsh or strident at all. Impressive. Just before my time ran out I was asked to pick a track from Tidal and I chose 'Circle of Life' from the Lion King soundtrack. Go ahead, laugh all you want, but it's a great song that makes everyone smile as they remember the opening act of the Lion King movie. How did it sound? Like being in the recording studio. Amazing. So, is it worth $55K? Is a Bugatti Chiron worth $1.5M+? Is a Patek Philippe Chronograph worth $60K+? If you have the coin and want a true luxury item I say go for it - it's an amazing system. For the rest of us 99% folks we can look forward to benefit from the trickle-down effect from this masterpiece in the years to come.

Again, thanks to everyone for a superb event!

Here is a little insight to our meet. I snuck in on the private rooms. We were scheduled for 28 appointments on each private room but found a way to get to 32 in the Sennheiser HE-1 Orpheus II, HiFiMan SHANGRILA and MrSpeakers Ether ES rooms.

Good times, Good friends and Good stuff! It doesn't get much better
