AKG K500

Did a wrong thing and sold them. Not that anything was wrong with them, just the fact that I kind of stepped away from serious listening for some time.

Havent had a chance to compare them directly to K70x, but from what most people say - K500 should be more enjoyable to listen, more relaxed.

While I had my pair, I mostly listened to instrumental and prog rock, classical also. I found them more than good enoug for my taste. And extremely comfortable. Even so much that I would forget I had full size headphones on my head and almost doze of on the the side of my pillow...

Note that Headfonia tested K500 made from various parts and with drivers from LP version, which were the least bass. And with replacement earpads from K501. The real gem is K500 EP version with wide bassports and removable internal cables: http://s6.postimg.org/tegpwbq2p/K500_drv_new_and_old.jpg.
 
They can outshine literally EVERY other version including K501. K500 EP are more bassy, more midrange intimate and a little warmer on highs, yet still with the same clarity, detail, speed, and soundstage openess. IMHO this is probably the most amazing and at the same time the most overlooked AKG headphone in their history, mostly due to lack of bass in LP version.
