Phonak Audeo (PFE) Thread
It's kinda quiet on the Phonak front.. All issues regarding cracks and bad cables have been resolved right? I'm looking for a balanced armature earphone to use alongside the IE8. The Phonak 012 is the new earphone with green filters for more bass, but with the same armature driver as the...- R3SET

I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions
Quote: Yes they are less warm indeed. They are much more aggressive and less refined I think. The IE8 & Sony X combo is very very smooth and warm, but maybe a bit boring? Anyway, it's only for 5 days i have this player so maybe my opinion will change the coming weeks, I don't know. But...- R3SET

I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions
Quote: Same here! Just bought a X1050, it sounds and looks amazing. At this moment I actually prefer my Philips SHE9850 to my IE8 with the Sony X. Anyone who has the Sony and Etymotic HF5/MC5?- R3SET

5800 with IE8?
If the volume on the 5800 is not loud enough for you, next time select not headphones but line out! Be careful, this can get really loud but works great if you need more volume. I find the SQ of the Nokia 5800 quite good for a phone but significantly worse than both my Sony A828 and Sony X. ...- R3SET

Sansa Clip+ or Cowon i9 or iPod Nano or Sansa Fuze+ or...? (Need a replacenent for my iRiver iFP)
I would get the Sansa Fuze+ or a Sony. I resently bought the Clip+ but the screen/interface is too small, so rather would have the Fuze+ instead for sure. The sound should be the same, the sound is OK to me but quite a bit colder than my Sony so i only enjoy the clip+ with warm sounding...- R3SET

taking apart RE0
I don't think it's a improvement. Looks low quality too, which is not very surprising at 20$. To be honest, it wouldn't use this body, if doing it at all.- R3SET

An analytical, balanced IEM with good treble/clarity ?

IE8 - how much bass can you get out of em?
I think the bass is easing a bit with burning in. Depends on the source (bass boost?), tips and fit too, but highest setting will give you a lot of bass, can't imagine it's insufficient for you.- R3SET

IE8 - How durable are they?
The problem you had with the cx95 is because the cable gets disconnected from the driver due to the strain on in. Similar issues with cx300/400/500. IE8 has seperate cables so no problems to be expected here. I use them outside as well, and do wrap them around my mp3 player sometimes. You should...- R3SET

Lost my Ety ER-6i :(
The Sony's are not bad at all, they are very different from your ety's but they need some burn-in too, because they are dynamics. So if i were you i would stick to the Sony's and buy something you really want when you can upgrade or buy the Er6i again if you liked them.- R3SET

Has anoyone heard of "Vivid Technologies" V1 amp? Help before I purchase!
I use it for several months now, no portable use, and I really like it, highly recommended for every IE8 owner anyway. It's the best source for the Sennheiser IE8 i have or have heard. As stated before, HD600 works great also. Only minor drawback is it gives a little distortion changing the...- R3SET

Old tubeamp question
Ok i think it's better to not open it myself, because i have no experience whatsoever in repairing electrical devices, let alone high voltage equipment. And if these capacitors need to be replaced, it has no use because i can't do that anyway, i thought maybe some cleaning would do it all. So i...- R3SET
