I don't think it's a improvement. Looks low quality too, which is not very surprising at 20$. To be honest, it wouldn't use this body, if doing it at all.

I think the bass is easing a bit with burning in. Depends on the source (bass boost?), tips and fit too, but highest setting will give you a lot of bass, can't imagine it's insufficient for you.

Maybe it's interesting as well to know how the HF5 compares to the re0?

How does these compare to the Philips SHE9850? Will the Shure olives fit the HF5?

The Sony's are not bad at all, they are very different from your ety's but they need some burn-in too, because they are dynamics. So if i were you i would stick to the Sony's and buy something you really want when you can upgrade or buy the Er6i again if you liked them.
