    I got mine for the DT-880 from Headroom.  No problem with the build quality and the pads do improve the bass and their thickness is better for the soundstage.

    Only reinstalled OS 10.5 a couple years ago when I thought I had a virus.  Turned out that the Airport died, so I really didn't need to reinstall at all.

    I know I'm dating myself, but my first set-up (circa 1970) was a Heathkit integrated amp, tuner and speakers that I managed to put together myself without screwing anything up.  I also had a BSR turntable.  Not bad for way back then.
