TakeT BPP Portable Supertweeter and H2+ Headphone - Head-Fi TV, Episode 010
I listen daily to a pair of the original groupbuy Takets driven direct from a BHSE. I really like the detailed tacile sound. There is some minor bass resonance(something do with the square ear-pad shape - some damping foam in corners help). Thanks Duggeh for the tip on Sennheiser...- goon-heaven

ZU cable for HD 600/650 First Impressions
I guess I missed out on that "crisp" feeling. Totally agree though on fluidity and air. My hearing aint as good as it woz - tails off around 13k. But with these cables I'd swear I'm hearing 16k and beyond. I look forward to your update. -
ZU cable for HD 600/650 First Impressions
The Zu's have burned for 60hours now. I upgraded from stock - so cant compare with Cardas, etc. Straight out the bag there was alot more detail, more solidity, but slightly cold and restrained, but not edgy like some silver I've heard. Now, the Zu's have taken my system up to another strata... -
ZU cable for HD 600/650 First Impressions
Excellent Review... I'm left staring into the smoking crater of my wallet. -
Epos ELS3 and Castle Pembroke's
Hmmm, my Castle Pembrokes mkII are standmounters... some 24inch tall. There was matching wooden stands sold separately. I bought mine (£400) after some extensive auditioning - I liked their slight withdrawn character(probably why I like HD600s too) that appeared to have more bass control than... -
Zu cable for HD580/600
Quote: Zu Cable said they're not selling the connectors at the moment, but might in the future. I emailed them, a couple of weeks ago, asking them if they would sell these connectors but didnt get a reply. Presumably that "might in the future" could be when their email is flooded...- goon-heaven

HD 600 -- New Type of Upgrade Cable (from UK)
The advantage of hardwiring or replacing the connector is we should end up with a better connection. I recall a post on the subject on Headwize by Jan Meier some time ago. The downside is we lose the ability to compare with those 30day free trial yardsticks. And also may lose resale... -
HD 600 -- New Type of Upgrade Cable (from UK)
Hi Duke, I emailed RA re selling connectors separately but they refused. I want to DIY the cable, but like others the sticking point is that damn headphone connector. I had thought of fabricating the connectors out of teflon block and copper or hardwiring direct to the headphone. Your... -
First impressions of Behringer DEQ2496 eq/dac
Hi GerG, I've had my eye on one of these when I rebuild my Hifi. It hadn't occurred to me that headphones would also benefit. What EQ did the Behringer decide the HD600s need? -

Illinois capacitor for gilmore amp group buy
Quote: PS: I should have mentioned this at the outset. I plan to order the 850 V cap. This is rather large: 38 X 55 mm (apr 1.5 X 2.126 in). Oh dear. I woz planning to bung these into an Antness V1. No room for nothing that size. Why the 850V cap? I would have thought a 60V rating...- goon-heaven

Gilmore Class A Kit Review
88Sound Thanks for the 100hr review - impressive and spurring me on the greater heights. Where to now - balanced bridged? Antness How is the BB upgrade kit coming on? Power Supply FREDs, HexFreds, Fast Recovery, Schottkys,Ultrasofts and Ultrafasts
Thats why I asked if you had heard FRED, especially as that glowing quote came from a tuber, and you have sand. Perhaps you could modify your PS circuit board to plant sockets for mounting the diodes, and get samples of eight, samples of eight and do a review. I would like to know too. The...- goon-heaven

*New* High End FRED Gilmore Power Supply Design
I had in mind (eventually) 2 PSs to one amp box with 4 boards ( or 2 boards + piggybacks) & a dual channel switched attentuator. I need the rubber band to drive the genny from the bike, and I've to build the std yet, so I've to walk before I can pedal.- goon-heaven

*New* High End FRED Gilmore Power Supply Design
BoyElroy: So did you hear FREDs improvements as per the VacuumTube quote. Antness: The BB can be implemented with 4 of your amp boards. Not having received the kit yet, I dunno if 4 boards would fit the std enclosure. But I would like to see a power socket per channel on the amp, and two...- goon-heaven

Bridged KG Dynamic Amp questions
Possum - can you please let me have the schematic for your PS, or least the revised circuit/component values around the pre-regulators and regulators - I think I'm going to need to beef up the PS to cope with bridged and doubled output transistors. Thanks. Steve[not into water coolers... yet]- goon-heaven
