Random Musings On a Trip Down Memory Lane:
Originally, I intended to have this be an introduction to how I felt about the Etymotic ER-4P, but it didn’t work out that way. I started writing and it just came out. I’m going to make a separate post for the Etys. Before I begin, let me tell you a little but about where I...- Voyager

Need help deciding on a new amp...
Well, the title says it all. I need help deciding on a new headphone amp. It will mostly be used with my HP-1s, and sometimes with some HD580s, or eventually HD600s. I'd prefer a solid state amp, mostly because I didn't really like any of the tube amps I've listened to, even the Cary 300sei...- Voyager

Just bought a new PCDP, a Sony D-E565
Well atually I bought it last night. It is a bit larger than my CT470, not a lot, and appears just a tad thiner. It is powered by 2 700 mAh NiCd AA batteries. It has an optical line out, and a 15mW amp (into 16 Ohms) Listening to it for a few hours now, I can say that, IMO at least, it sounds...- Voyager

Initial impressions of the Grado HP-1
I just got home about an hour ago from getting my Grado HP-1s from Vka. They are built much better than the new Grados. Much better than most phones actually. They are a bit heavy, but the weight is evenly distributed and I still think they are very comfortable. The cord is also much more...- Voyager

Sennheiser MX-500s
I got some Senn MX-500s about 2 weeks ago and have been very impressed with them. They sound more neutral than the Sony 888s and almost as detailed. I like them much more than my 888s and I highly recommended the to anyone wanting a cheap pair of earbud. My only concerns are that they may not...- Voyager

I saw some one buy a JVC MX-GT80 today!
Today I was in a Best Buy with some of my friends. They were over looking at some Minisystems when I told them that they all sounded terrible. They replied "Just because we don't spen $300 on headphones, it doesn't mean we don't like music. Ok I thought. I look to my left and see the JVC...- Voyager

Well, after listening to my 888s for several hours yesterday, my ears became very sore , but thats ok now because of my mod. I've been thinking of purchasing a minidisc player for some time, and after I went over DanG's house and saw his MZR-900 I decided that I NEED a minidisc player to replace my cd player in portable applications. Recording with headphones?
I heard somewhere that dynamic headphones could be used as microphones. It seems to make sense, but would it really work? Would higher impeadence phones be better than low impeadence phones?
