^^ I agree - sound quality just isn't a priority for most people.   I think this player is perfect, and can be quite competitive with the iPod Touch but, as with most Sony products, the price is going to cripple this thing right out of the gate.  When you compare this against the new iPod...

I was looking on the Sony Store (US) website, and noticed the 32GB F series (the new model) is $30 less expensive than the older 32GB Z version....anyone know why that is?

No 64GB?  What a darn shame!!!!!  And the 16GB S-series is so overpriced, it almost makes me feel sorry for Sony as to how out of touch they are....

Agreed - I also own both (well, ownED the X until recently), and the X blows every Apple product out of the water when it comes to SQ.   This ain't even an opinion - it's a fact!

In my case, I lucked out as someone on eBay found my post for my X and bought it literally 5 minutes after I posted.  Apparently he's a HUGE Sony fan, and collects Sony's MP3 players - he has 5 16GB X's, and (now) 4 32GB X's.  But you're right - unless someone truly appreciates the X, you won't...

I sold my X (32GB) for $330 earlier this month; although it came with the complete packaging and everything.

Last we heard from Sony's DAP department, they released the exquisite A-series (A845 etc.)...and of course, the massively overpriced (but amazing sounding) X-series (which I'm a proud owner of!).  I think those budget E and S series players came out after, but those were not particularly...

^ Yeah I think so too - I doubt sales #s will ever be released, but I'm quite positive that the X probably sold pretty poorly (especially at that nasty price!)

The "rumour" is the Q1 2010 part - which would be news considering Apple rarely does a refresh for their iPod line in Q1.

I agree with all of the players on the list - but perhaps not the order in which they're listed.
