have a naked pair for more than 3 years now, no problem at all. I did damage one driver when I tried to replace the SAA cable myself though. BTW, I have really long hair for a male .

BTW, for what it worth I did listen to hd800 in one of the room at canjam , and thought k1000 is much clearer and faster.

heard the R10 in camjam. love it but i prefer my k1000. but to be fair, my source costs 3 times as much as what ray used(meridian G08) and my amp costs twice as much. throw in the nucleus usb cable i bought in canjam + IC , it's not a fair comparision. :-)

I was thinking about either F1 or spectron musician III , with messenger preamp. after flying mole, I started to believe class D amp is a GREAT choice. on the paper, messengee _+ F1 or musician III should sound amazing. there was one messeger preamp was sold on audiogon few weeks ago...

anyone here familliar with OTL design and k1000?

I am thinking about getting Tenor OTL( output transformerLess Tube Amp ) to Drive my akg k1000, does anyone try this combo before? do you think they will be ideal match? I am abit worry becuase i heard Tenor OTL amp is only stable when they are run with a speaker that has a benign impedence...

it really depend on type of instructments, for violin, k1000 clarity make violin sound incredibly real. for piano, hd600 beat k1000 because sound of k1000 lack the weight. so it really depend.

speaking of Grado, like 770 pro, PS1 also has ridiculous amount of bass, it could sound bloated with poor source/amplification(e.g.straight out of ipod headphone jack.) but unlike 770 pro, with the good source and amplification, PS1 will have tight bass that is reasonbly fast with GREAT impact...
