iPod 80GB - Ultimate Link Crescendo-i - GS Voyager - Earsonics SM3

i just recieved my SM3s today.. i must say that it's a whole different ballgame compared to my old TF10s (which i had to sell to finance these).. gonna give it a couple more hours of listening before i say anything else about the sound..   but for starters i'm not missing my TF10s..  :P

thanks for the recommendations Hybrys!   do the suggestions that you have put forward make the best use of the musical fidelity amp that i use to drive the speakers and subwoofer? if i wanted to make use of that amp, what would i do?  

i had some spare stuff lying around and i swapped with someone for a NuForce Icon Mobile.. I know it ain't great and I'm still leaning towards getting a uDAC but I'm just checking to make sure that I have it plugged in right.. Am I replacing the X-Fi or placing the iCon Mobile somewher else...

i have a pair of grados sr60 and will definitely look into getting a decent pair of cans in the near future.. have an AKG K518E which i consider my throw-around headphones.. ESW10JPN is kinda outta my league tho although i would love to hear recommendations.. 

haha.. looks like many are encouraging the replacement of the X-Fi.. I got it in at Fry's for a good discount so i'm not too worried about that one.. :P

hmm.. there seems to be differing views but that's always the case with regards to audio equipment i guess..    @ypoknos: what would you recommend?   anyone that is more pro iCon?

it's kinda cool where this thread ended because i am in the midst of trading a Meizu M6 for a NuForce Icon with some top-up.. i have also been looking at the uDAC as a DAC and was wonderin if anyone uses both the icon and the uDAC since they seem to do the same thing..   i have a thread over...

i'll definitely check out the media players..   if i am understanding you right, i need to get an extra DAC.. i always thought that the X-Fi acted as one.. Ok..would you be able to point me in the right direction with regard to an upgrade for the X-Fi and also a suitable DAC?   thanks...

So technically the X-Fi is not a soundcard and a dedicated DAC would still work better? Do u have any recommendations on a soundcard & DAC? On a budget would describe the financial situation I guess.. Thanks for the help.. Appreciate it!

i have a pair of q-jays and they were my first venture into high-end IEMs.. love 'em to death.. did the O.J. Mod too.. agreed on the highs and the mids.. altho' i do find the bass a lil lacking (maybe by focusing on the response i'd agree with the bass).. i would like a lil more soundstage...
