Quote: Actually I've opened up YH-100 drivers and fixed a corroded diaphragm (with conductive ink, like dbel did with YH-1000's) with nothing more than a miniature flat head screw driver.

Quote: 1. That is a controversial question. The answer is, if you believe there to be burn in periods on dynamic drivers, then there is no reason that you would think otherwise about ortho drivers.   2. No it would sound like *ahem* crap *ahem*. SFI's need to be quite heavily...

Quote: Why not get a Zero DAC with that $100, get free samples of LT1364's to put in the pre-amp section, an audio-gd moon or earth discrete opamp for the DAC section, swap out major caps for Nichicon's or Blackgates, and then bypass all the major capacitors with Russian NOS PIO (paper in...

Quote:     Back in the 80's, speaker (and headphone) manufacturers realized that they would get to a point where they would be unable to top their own products. This would evidently eventually lead them to bankruptcy. Fostex would never make something that is their "best shot" if they...

You actually pay the exact brokerage fee difference in price from standard to express. So really, winds up being same price for either service, might as well take the one that arrives much quicker!

close. five 100lbs spools of custom cable, shipped over fedex express from the USA. Had I known ahead of time how much it was going to cost for the shipping, I would have let them ship it ground lol.    3602:  customs fees with UPS is only insane if you have it shipped ground. If you ship...

No no, the 1850$ was the shipping charges. the $600 was for duty/customs.   They just forgot to add it into the first bill or something.

Thats nothing. Fedex sent me a bill in the mail for $1850, and then few days later another $600 (USD) in customs/duty charges.  *EDIT*  this was for one package.

I figured I'd share my ideas/theories and get input on them, given how much this thread has already given to me.   The first being, I've noticed the optimal depth between earpads/ears and the driver is equivalent to the depth from behind the driver to the back wall of the cup. Would have...

I prefer the 120ohms, some say they can't hear a difference, but I find the more power going into them makes them really "sing". A matter of preference.   hmm....Depends if you're going open cups or closed. Closed cups I wouldn't recommend large spaces.
