ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!
I feel like I'm fairly set on the Caldera. I probably won't buy it until next year, so I have plenty of time to save up for it. When's the best time to buy one? Is ZMF November usually the best or would going to a Cam Jam be better?- JGreen08

ZMF November // 2023 // MEGATHREAD!
Ugh. Those Caldera brown mallee are so tempting to me. I absolutely love the way they look. If I didn't just spend a fairly large amount of money on an amp/dac/power supply, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.- JGreen08

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!
How much of a difference does the wood make to the sound? For instance, without being able to directly compare two different Calderas, would I be able to notice a large difference or is it more just a nuance to the overall Caldera sound profile? I'm honestly tempted to pick the wood type by how...- JGreen08

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!
Oh I wish I had the space for the May/Bliss combo! My desk has literally just enough space for the Ferrum stack. Maybe once I upgrade my living situation, I’ll get Holo combo hahaha. For now, next up is the Caldera.- JGreen08

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!
Thank you all for your advice! Sounds like the Caldera may be in my future. I’d like to say it won’t happen soon, bbuuutttt I literally just bought a whole Ferrum stack after getting a good deal on the Oor and Hypsos. I was shocked at how large of an improvement it made to the Clear and now the...- JGreen08

How would you compare them to the Focal Clear? I haven’t heard any of the headphones in the Caldera’s class, but I’m curious if it’s worth it down the line.- JGreen08

Focal Clear headphones
I finally got my Ferrum stack. I had read that the Clear are really easy to drive and that even the Apple dongle was good enough. I was going to sell them after I got my Solitaire T, but I'm so glad I kept them. Connecting them to the Ferrum stack makes them sound amazing. Now I can see why so...- JGreen08

T+A Solitaire T Wireless Headphone
Finally got my Ferrum stack (Oor, Hypsos and Wandla). There's an obvious improvement with both my Focal Clear and the Solitaire. However, I think the Clear benefit more than the Solitaire. That said, this isn't a fair comparison since the only other way I've used the Clear is connected to my...- JGreen08

Ferrum WANDLA - Impressions Thread
Have any of you tried the Holo Bliss with the Wandla? I was initially going to go with a full Ferrum stack. However, it looks like UPS may have lost the Oor and Hypsos. That got me thinking about other possible amps for the Wandla since it just arrived today. So I’ve got a dac, but no amp. In...- JGreen08

T+A Solitaire T Wireless Headphone
Well, I certainly wasn't planning on buying the entire Ferrum stack for these headphones and my Focal Clear, but I just bought the Oor and Hypsos for 2k. I couldn't pass up that deal and at that point I might as well buy the Wandla too. Right? hahaha. Hopefully this will end my headphone journey...- JGreen08

T+A Solitaire T Wireless Headphone
Sorry about the wall of text. Okay, now that I've used my new headphones for a bit, here's how I think I'd compare them. One quick caveat, the only aspect I have absolutely no idea is the mic quality. I've never tested the mic on any of the headphones I own. Compared to the H9, I found the...- JGreen08

T+A Solitaire T Wireless Headphone
Just to double check, is it normal to occasionally hear a small crackle when switching between songs and different sources? I don't hear it consistently, but somewhat often. Everything is fine once the music kicks in. I can't wait to try it wired. So far I have my eye on the Ferrum ERCO or...- JGreen08

T+A Solitaire T Wireless Headphone
I recently bought the Focal Clear thinking that it would be my endgame for at least awhile. However, I kept getting annoyed by the fact that they're wired after using wireless for so long. Just picked up the Solitaire T after researching the best wireless headphones with ANC. I'm shocked at how...- JGreen08

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
Just got my orange globes. So far, I like them. It's not as huge a difference I got when I upgraded my audio gear, but it's there. I'm noticing a greater overall warmth to the music and a more dynamic lower end with what feels like a bit more emphasis. Certain aspects of the music also seem a...- JGreen08

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
Broke down and decided I have to at least try tube rolling once to see how much of a difference I can hear over my stock tubes. Picked a pair of NOS 1967 orange globes as my gateway tube. I'll be running it with my HE 560s + Lyr 2 + Bifrost Uber. I'm both hoping and fearing these make a...- JGreen08

My 560s came in the mail! First impressions were pretty bad. I thought the song sounded far too bright. Then I realized it was an old 128 kbps mp3. Once I played some of my newer music, wow does it sound good. The first thing I noticed was the bass was actually impactful. After that I had some...- JGreen08
