Best Headphones?
I'm sorry if I'm too soon to reach that conclusion... I've only heard K340, STAX bottom-range, baby STAX and K1000. A friend of mine also have Martin Logan electrostatic speakers that is using an internal subwoofer...- Harlin

Best Headphones?
Electrostats have weakness in low-register... The punch of lamb-skin drum won't shake your ear, unlike HD600... It is evidently in track Sarah (Rim Banna - The Mirror Of My Soul)... With electrostats, the bass quantity is just insufficient to truly admire the opening...- Harlin

Matching Sound Sigs of Headphones and Players
Well some matched them by reducing the bright of a DAP with warm CANS, or otherwise. But I think it's best to match the individual DAP & CANS best areas. For example, great bass DAP + great staging CANS.- Harlin

Would putting my Plextor Premium in an external enclosure affect rip quality?
Well why don't you try it and tell us then... If it's data CD you're ripping, I'd say no problem at all... But for audio cd, it's all hocus pocus (even jitter can reduce sq), so I cannot be sure...- Harlin

HD600: I can't stop smiling
I've heard that there is 2 version of HD600 (and HD580/650 too). The one with Black Filter, and the one with Silver Filter? My HD600 is the latter one. I wonder how the black one sounds...- Harlin

K271 Mk II vs DT770 pro/manufaktur vs ATH-A700 vs HD 600 vs D2000/5000
Can't agree more with ting.mike... Prices are so high here in Indonesia... I've listened both, and I liked K271 mkII more than DT770.- Harlin

Least painful downgrade from AKG K-1000,looking for clarity and details and realness...
Well frankly I don't like K501. I bought a NOS (New Old Stock) one from an abandoned stock for as low as $90 Then I sell to a local for $140. It's too harsh even after burned-in, and even my tube won't soften it. My ears are too sensitive of high-freq. I wonder if DT48 have this same...- Harlin

Three headphones only
AKG K340 - I rely on the magical mid/high of this can. It's vocals are the best I've ever heard... My first electrostats cans. Sennheiser HD600 w/SAA Equinox cable - Opposite of K340, great on mid/low. Great bass authority and visceral impact. Great for almost all genre. Sennheiser HD580...- Harlin

Best Headphones?
Classical: AKG K340 / K1000/ STAX (what's better for classical than electrostats?) Orchestra: HD600 (good visceral impact, electrostats just don't have this impact) Trance: I think Ultrasone ED9 with its deep bass will suit trance- Harlin

Least painful downgrade from AKG K-1000,looking for clarity and details and realness...
Well K340 is quite cheap for electrostic... It's hybrid, though... From there to next good stats phone in price chart, the price differences are too high... So I can safely say, K340 is the best bang for the buck... It's as low as $180 on ebay, stock version. And it DOES NOT NEED...- Harlin

K271 Mk II vs DT770 pro/manufaktur vs ATH-A700 vs HD 600 vs D2000/5000
Well I've heard all but A700 & D5000. In my opinion, this is the rank of those cans based on my music preference: 1. HD600 (especially on tube amps + Equinox recable, bass authority wonderful mids, smooth treble) 2. K271 Mk II (great unamped 55ohm only, good mid) 3. D2000 (okay to me) 4...- Harlin
