IEM for someone with tinnitus and hearing damage
That's a very good question, and one that I would actually like to know the precise answer to myself! While I was in treatment, I had regular hearing tests so that they could monitor any hearing damage that was being caused as a result of the drugs. However, post-treatment (it's now 2 years)...- tyagi

IEM for someone with tinnitus and hearing damage
In some ways this is a bit of an alien thread for Head-Fi, where the general trend is towards "audiophile" (whatever that actually means) profile equipment and sound replication. I've been on and around head-fi for a few years and have enjoyed good headphones and music for many more. However, a...- tyagi

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
Can anyone recommend a place in the US (which does international shipping) to pick up a pair of Pro 900s? I've looked in the obvious places such as Amazon but would like some other recommendations. PM is fine, sorry to clutter the thread.- tyagi

To me, the Grado SR-80is are too bright, what's next?
When I first bought my SR80s, I wasn't very impressed for the styles of music (mainly electronica) that I listen to. So they sat practically unused while my HD25-1's got all the playtime. Recently I went back to them for some rock and acoustic music, but the bowl pads had actually...- tyagi

Best Headphones album/song
I've recently been really enjoying late night listening to XX by The XX on my Grado SR80s with flat/comfy pads. XX is a very intimate/up-close album anyway, and listening on the Grados with the flat pads brings it all closer. Fantastic.- tyagi

Advice on buying full size cans, upgrade from HD25-1 II.
I've also got some HD25's that I've had for a number of years. I bought them to use in an open office environment and they've been superb. I've recently picked up some nice open headphones for use at home, and would like to upgrade my "work headphones", so I'm looking for an upgrade from...- tyagi

DT880 vs DT990 | Comparison & Review
Quote: I'd be really interested in your thoughts on the Little Dot MkIII paired with the DT990. I've just bought a 250 Ohm pair (600 Ohm version not available otherwise I would have got it), and would like a desktop amp to match. I was thinking that the LD MkIII would smooth out the...- tyagi

Recommendations: Amp + Headphone setup for Electronica
Quote: I've spent a few days looking around and wondered whether you had any specific recommendations from the Ultrasone range? I should also mention that I've got a Xin amp that I can use to amplify whichever headphones I end up buying.- tyagi

Recommendations: Amp + Headphone setup for Electronica
Quote: Thanks for the DAC/Amp recommendation. I was looking at the NuForce (http://estore.nuforce.com/products/NuForce-Icon-uDAC2.html) uDAC2 for a DAC to go with the Little Dot Mk III. I can't take advantage of the special offer unfortunately, as I'm outside the US (Australia/NZ...- tyagi

Recommendations: Amp + Headphone setup for Electronica
I am looking for recommendations for a desktop amp and headphone setup for mainly listening to electronica (drum & bass, trance/techno, some ambient and some electro-pop). The source will either be a PC/Mac output or an iPod. I currently have: - Etymotic ER4P - Sennheiser HD25-1...- tyagi

Headphones for Office Use
Yes, bangraman, I bought the HD25-1s. Having used them all afternoon, first impressions are the my ears feel a bit squashed after extended use. This is due to the headband being a bit tight, but I'm assured by the shop staff that this will loosen. (Either that or my head will be compressed to...- tyagi

Headphones for Office Use
Took a trip in to town today (Leeds, UK) and auditioned a few sets at Super-Fi. Very good shop, great staff, most helpful and willing to offer advice and support a good listening session. They stocked Sennheiser up to and including the 600 (at £149 at the moment) Sony 5000/7000, and Grado...- tyagi

Headphones for Office Use
I'm one of those lucky people who is able to listen to music while in the office. I use a pair of Grado SR80 at home and have a pair of Sennheiser MX500 buds for on-the-go. I also use a Supermini amp. Criteria are that sound leakage to the rest of the room should be kept to a minimum but I'd...- tyagi

What was your first headphone purchase after coming to Head-Fi?
Grado SR80. I stumbled on head-fi.org while researching what headphones to buy, ignored posts containing the string "grato" and focussed on the good points Very pleased with them, but I've just seen some Senn 600s for £140 (new), which is just under $200US. This could get expensive. Oh...- tyagi
