how to get sound from Xbox 360?
You can also use the Emu 0404 USB, by connecting an optical cable to the HDTV-cable of the 360, an extremely easy solution, that in turn gives you great sound quality.- Halqyon

USB 0404 and Vista = works great
Nope, wasn't an option, had heard good things about Vista from my brother, so I opted for Vista instead. I made this thread to show people that Vista + 0404 does work, and so far I haven't experienced any problems.- Halqyon

I did that, but there are no errors being reported. I'm going through the troubleshooter now. But do you think formating the pc would correct things? I think I'm going to buy Vista soon.- Halqyon

Pops and crackles when using Emu 0404 USB
I'm experiencing pops and crackling when I'm just listening to music, doing nothing else. My setup is currently: Dell XPS M1710->0404-> HD595's . I've plugged the phones in the headphone jack, and haven't touched the settings on the 0404 unit. It could be a problem with one of the usb ports...- Halqyon
