I have both, and wouldn’t part with either.

I've had these for a little over a year. Fabulous. They should have been in everyone's collection.

I bought these back in October 2011, and they basically sat on a shelf for almost a decade. Last week, I decided to give them a whirl. Absolutely fabulous. What was I thinking?

I had both - I kept the 840, which was more versatile and refined to me.

Just over a year into ownership, the Edition 11s still really impress me. Some records just sound outstanding - latest is the new St. Vincent album 'Daddy's Home'. Beautiful balanced sound. And these are so comfortable. No regrets.

Interesting - I love the sound of the Aventhos so I haven't felt the urge to look elsewhere. The Lagoons are way too expensive in these parts.

Apropos of nothing, I love my Aventhos.

Feeling self destructive, and because they were on sale, I purchased some Edition 11s the other day. I haven't been able to take them off since. Absolutely fabulous.

I had the ad1000s and sold them. I far prefer the dt880s.

I guess a fairer comparison is between the HD 700s and the DT 1990s. I don't have the 700s, but I did have the 800s, but unloaded them. The DT 1990s are my favourite headphones.

I find the Amirons considerably better than the HD 650s - the Amirons and the DT 1990s and the DT 880s are all fantastic 'phones to me - I won't sell any of them

It's all subjective, but I fine the DT 880s a pretty relaxing listen. The DT 1990s with the 'B' pads, I found too bass heavy. With the analytical pads, I wonder if the DT 1990s have become a touch bass light, but I'm still getting a handle on those 'phones. The DT 880s just always satisfy me...

Honestly on first listen - they are really close - I'm astonished how the DT880 (600 Ohm) isn't in everybody's collection - they are superb - staggering for the price - but I need more time to do a meaningful comparison with the DT1990s

My god these DT 880 600 ohms are really superb. I only wonder if the T1.2 are these but just better. The DT 880s sound nothing like my DT 1990s.

Just picked these up today about an hour ago.  Out of the box, they sound quite good.  Not to far from the D2000s, for me.  On the iPod they sound great on active mode.  Amped with my Shanling PH-100, on passive mode, they sound quite good as well, but have had a couple of odd sound drop outs. ...
