Eversolo DMP-A6 Network Streamer/DAC
That's possible, as, with SPDIF, clock generator in the streamer dictates the timing of the digital output, whilst for USB, the DAC will rely on DAC's internal clock. As your unit is A6ME, I think clock inside should be superior to those in the EF499. In my case, with the DDC and Terminator...- PrTv

Focal Utopia 2022 Review, Measurements
On the difference between the BSHP and Yatono, below is what Brise told me (and I quoted) “Compared to YATONO-HP, BSHP for UTOPIA SG is adjusted to take advantage of the matured high-frequency contours. Since it has a lively sound, it is recommended for those who seek sharpness and speed in...- PrTv

Focal Utopia 2022 Review, Measurements
Yep… also eyeing for appropriate cable for the 2022. I’m trying to borrow this Brise Audio cable for a demo and if it does the trick, will get this for 2.5m length. Also use Brise Yatono Ultimate with my Susvara and really love it.- PrTv

Focal Utopia 2022 Review, Measurements
Posted this in OG Utopia thread and just saw this thread, so I will post here too. Just got the 2022 version a few days back and have been feeding them with bassy music at appropriate level for 50-55 hours. At this stage, my impression is that the 2022 version doesn’t seem to have the same...- PrTv

Focal Utopia General Discussion
Hi guys.. around 50-55ish hours in, and my impression now is that the 2022 version doesn’t seem to have the same level of dynamic, in comparison with the OG. I compared them side by side listening to several tracks and the difference was quite clear. TBH it’s a bit boring to listen to. Hope...- PrTv

Focal Utopia General Discussion
Thanks. I paired mine with DanaCable's Lazuli Reference. Bought this few years back for OG Utopia and this cable TRANSFORMED my OG Utopia. Mid is fuller and treble is tamed to the degree that I no longer feel fatigued. With the Newtopia that is warmer, it's to be seen how good this cable will...- PrTv

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
That’s right mate! I bought his 300B amplifier almost 10 years ago and it’s still rocking. Recently added the power amplifier with >8 watt per channel as I couldnt find any good amplifier for my Susvara. Wanna add some warmth to the Susvara and no good option I can find (regardless of the...- PrTv

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
Current setup: Looking for a good audio rack that has 4 level... but for now, that side table will have to do! Currently 3 amplifiers, each paired with headphones that it drives best. - Susvara with a high power KT120 tube amp, as power amp and V281 as a preamp (XLR from V281) - VC with a...- PrTv

Eversolo DMP-A6 Network Streamer/DAC
Just got this a few days back, and worked beautifully with my setup. Playing files from internal storage isn't quite as good as my Aurender N100, but streaming is on par with my N100. I bought it solely for Apple Music and at first I didn't expect much from this relatively affordable Chinese...- PrTv

Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC (and headphone amp)
Hi, has anyone compared this with Denafrips Terminator Plus or 2? I’m using the Terminator Plus with Hermes DDC and want the dac that sounds warmer. Would this Tambaqui fit the bill? Also I’m sick of the need to keep my dac/ddc constantly on to maintain sound quality. Also, I see that the...- PrTv

Violectric HPA V281 - Vorsprung durch Balanced (September 2023 Update: Limited Reissue Edition up for preorder!)
Anybody compare V281 with Soloist 3X GT with Super Charger 5A PSU? Now with black Friday sale, this combo is at 2,240$ on Burson's website. Wondering if there will be major improvement if I replace the V281 with the Soloist 3X. In particular, is the Burson has warmer tone than the V281? Which...- PrTv

The Brise Audio Japan Cable Thread
Just received my Yatono Ultimate yesterday for my Susvara. Cable is very nicely built and has reasonable weight (as opposed to my Dana Reference which is very heavy). So far... burning it in along with the headphones.- PrTv

My long-awaited upgrade cable, Brise Audio Yatono-HP Ultimate, just arrived. A bit pricey but very nicely built. Sounds a lot better than my Silver Dragon and Stock Cable (I don't have any other cables to compare with).- PrTv

HiFiMan Susvara
I have a question about general robustness of Susvara's drivers. I've seen many people claiming their pairs due to driver failure. My tube amp sometimes sent out moderately loud thumps/pops when turned off. It's transformer coupled design so it shouldn't be DC that caused this. The level of this...- PrTv

HiFiMan Susvara
Sure... I will send you the owner's email via PM. He's familiar with overseas customers as I believe his main business is export sale of Silk Transformers to US/EU. You can exchange words with him. Normally, you tell him what you want, and he proposes a few options, and then the amp is made...- PrTv

HiFiMan Susvara
Thanks Yes, this is a custom-made amp from a local vendor in Thailand, and yes the front has 6.3" and XLR output. Initially I planned to buy an AHB2, but from my research, it can sound a bit dry and clinical, so I went with tube (as the Sus could use some lushness), and I tried almost all...- PrTv

HiFiMan Susvara
Just picked up my amp today. It's fully-balanced KT120-based amp. At around 20W into 60Ohm it drives the Susvara flawlessly. Abundant deep bass and great sound stage. I want it to act like a power amp with my V281 as a pre-amp. This way, I can use my V281 with less demanding headphones (Utopia /...- PrTv

HiFiMan Susvara
I'm joining the club gang! Today the Susvara just arrived and it joined my current collection. I don't like having too many headphones and might sell the Empy soon as the Sus with the right amp, should out perform the Empy in every way. I still like the VC's timbre and the Utopia dynamic and...- PrTv

Thanks for reaffirming this point. Although I set aside sufficient fund for a good power-(speaker)-amp to drive the Sus (with V281 as a pre-amp), I can rest assure that when I'm looking for "that" amp, I can still get decent music out of the Sus with my V281.- PrTv

Thanks mate! Hearing this is a bit of relief. Actually, I'm now using the amp with -12 setting as my Utopia / VC / Empy don't need all that power to shine. Never tried +12 though.- PrTv

HiFiMan Susvara
Thanks for your comment. About your 2nd bullet I don't want to say AHB2 per se is bright. But Susvara is inherently neutral-bright to me. And ahb2 doesn't seem to darken things at all. I'd also describe the pairing a bit analytical but in a very pleasing way. Tone and timbre are not as rich...- PrTv
