Reply to review by 'a:xus' on item 'beyerdynamic XELENTO remote 2nd Generation'

@rasmushorn I live in Copenhagen Vesterbro if you want to take a listen. I can only compare the A1 to my FiiO k7 with the quad era-1's. The A1 is warmer, sounds more organic in some way. The K7 is cleaner, more detailed at all levels and has no distortion in the bass like the A1 seems to have...

Hey Rasmus, think I bought a Beywrdynamic A1 from you back in the day. Still have it 😁 Do you still enjoy the Xelento? I love details and I am wondering how these compare to hybryd iems with BA drivers?

Samsung Galaxy S7 - Best next audiophile phone?

I only have the HTC one m8 for comparison mobile wise. The m8 has higher volume, way more dynamic range, and just sounds cleaner allround. The s7 edge (European unlocked) is a clear step down to me. Tinny harsh highs and a weak amp. But the phone is kick ass otherwise. If smaller battery is OK...

The DACs in galaxy s6 and the m9.. What do we know?

Usually the implementation of the wolfson DAC leaves a lot to be desired, when Samsung does it. Rooting and custom kernels usually takes care of this. Has anyone run the s9 with a custom kernel with better utilisation of the wolfson DAC? If not, then we need to wait for that, before judging.   ...

    MDR-Z1000 new Sony flagship headphones

I owned a pair untill i forgot them on a train (DUH). For people sensitive to treble or for people looking for a very warm sounding headphone mdr-Z1000 isn't the headphone of choice. What I enjoyed with the Z1000 was it's versatility. Boost the bass a little and you get punchy detailed bass...

Hey I need a suggestion for a replacement of my Sony MDR -V900's for primarily DJ use...

I own the mdr-z1000 and wouldn't consider them for dj'ing purposes. They lack the attack/quantity von bass that help out on certain mixes. Hd 25-II are for real. I hate them for casual litening, but for dj'ing they are perfect. They are built like a tank, lightweight, everything is user...

Pictures Of Your Portable Rig (part XV)

Quote:   I had that Minidisc player for ages. Really enjoyed the minidisc players. To bad they closed it up so much. The Atrac codec was really good and it was really easy to record live acts etc with the MD player.

Leaving portable hifi - it's too silly

Why don't people just get nice closed easily driven headphones? I use my nexus s (wolfson dac chip) and a pair of mdr-z1000's. Yeah it sounds marginally better out of my squeezebox touch and A1 amp. But I wouldn't be able to discern the difference riding the train or even outside with the...

    Looking for "all purpose?" cans

The TMA-1's are great headphones, but they are not allrounders. They are incredible for most electronic music but don't work as well with classical, jazz or rock. All phones have pros and cons, pick as balanced a phone as possible or go for broke by buying a phone that is awesome for your...

    MDR-Z1000 new Sony flagship headphones

Got a set of these cans 2 days ago. I am VERY pleased. Extension, immense detail, incrdible vocals, very very tight defined bass. The bass is lacking in impact if you are a bass lover. Adding a light bass boost on my dap solves 90% of the problem though. I am very much into bass heavy music...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

I owned the TMA-1 till i lost them on the train on my daily commute. 1. They are very efficient. THese babies are LOUD even directly out af an mp3 player/phone. 2 They have a unique frequency response where tha highs are attenuated to allow for louder playback without destroying your ears...

Time for new cans: AIAIAI TMA-1 or Sennheiser HD 25 SP

I owned the tma-1 and loved them for minimal techno and other bass driven music. They have very recessed highs and that will affect your enjoyment of rock music. I am no fan of the HD 25-I 2 but many people enjoy them. Their more balanced presentation would be much better for rock IMO. Stay...

    Audiophile Grade Cell phones

Traditionally yes, Android phones have had poor battery life. They are getting better though. My nexus S lasts me all day, and most of the day If I stream music from google music. If you don't care about the ultimate sound from your phone, galaxy SII is a killer phone and has very good...

You know you're an audiophile when...

When you bought a Beyerdynamic A1 amp, because it was the smart budget friendly choice. When you are saving for 350eur closed headphones for your commute.   All the while you are a student with a very low income.

Logitech's Squeezebox Touch - opinions sought on quality

I wouldn't advice anyone to buy a squeezebox it is insanely buggy. Buy a sonos or use your smartphone as a remote for your computer instead. The squeezebox sounds ok (thougs somewhat treble happy), but the ui and stability is crappy.
