My friend became a vegetarian...here comes the preeching:(

MEAT is bad. It can kill you. You can die. There are safer things to eat, for you, and the animals. SELL YOUR HEADPHONES AND FEED THE CHILDREN. Unless you ofcourse, live in the world of Douglas Adams, and know of a species that is quite fond of being eaten, who happens to know of...

    HD414 Senn pad + Grado SR60 + quarter sized hole =

Well, most of the recordings I first listened to were anemic, so they sounded meatier, which was nice. But a lot of neutral, and slightly bassy stuff is just annoying. I tried making bigger holes in the pads, then my ears touch the drivers, and it sounds bad. That whole honkyness thing comes...

    HD414 Senn pad + Grado SR60 + quarter sized hole =

Uhm.. Some sortof humpy bass dark sounding annoyingness. Maybe I should order the regular grado comfies, or maybe I'm on crack? Maybe I need to do something different?

    First GENERATION SR-60s?

I just got a chance to listen to a new pair of SR-60s, that have been well broken in (almost a year of use, from my friends brother.) Canman was not lying when he said he thought the older Grados sounded better . The newer Grados have what seems to be more elevated treble, and not nearly as...

    Grado SR-60 = Yes

Personally, I'm starting to think this hobby is bunk. After a certain point, I'm not finding anything noticably better, just different. I'm not willing to spend 500 dollars on preference, or to obtain that last bit of detail. $100 for interconnects to change the sound a hint, to me, is nuts. I...

    Grado SR-60 = Yes

I just find it annoying that I can hear ambient detail in the treble and upper midrange frequencies, as well as reverberations, and etc. Cymbal taps, upper frequency instruments such as high hats, cow bells, triangles, sound more natural. There is also more definition in the midbass frequencies...

    Grado SR-60 cable mod.

http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...0&pagenumber=2 Just figured I'd link the end of that thread here, so nobody missed it. Not sure if it's been done or documented before, but I figured maybe it would inspire someone to make their Grado's a little more convenient.

Sorry about the poor quality of this picture, but my cameras battery was dying and I had no time to focus or set the shot up. Thanks to my friend FoxZero, for hosting this lovely image for me.

    Grado SR-60 = Yes

I'll definitely post some pics and info as soon as it's completely finished. It's kindof rough right now (I flipped one of the caps upside down, just to avoid drilling a hole. :-) As far as the cable that I'm using, I re-used the stock cable. I cut the 1-8" connector off, since it was shot...

    Grado SR-60 = Yes

They definitely dont sound bright, which is sortof what I expected with my experiences with my SR80s way back in the day.... They don't approach the HD600 in overall sound quality, but they definitely approach them for value, especially at this kindof price.

    Grado SR-60 = Yes

So, I met a fellow Head-Fi member for a brief few seconds (wish it could have been longer.) I exchanged $25 for a pair of 6 year old SR60s with deteriorated pads and a broken cable. I took them home, replaced the pads with that of the HD414, which I must say, look lovely in yellow . I also...

Sony V6 or Grado SR-60? Hmmm???

If these are the only two phones you want to consider, if you'll be running around outside and whatnot, the V6. Otherwise, the SR60s, or just about any other Grado headphone, will produce sound at a higher level of quality.

    Brand spanking new HD580 owner

Oh, god. These headphones are so awful. Bass heavy, treble recessed, poor midrange, overall veiled sound, just atrocious. I tried removing the protective cloth things in my earcups. They sounded like a pair of Grados, harsh, grainy, disgusting, no bass. I personally prefer the Sony MDR-V600...

    Yay for linux

Most WinModems use LUCENT chipsets, which are almost all supported now. Anyone using AOL would not be interested in Linux, unless they were using AOL because they were forced to for some reason.

Not suprising. All of the current desktop managers are memory hogging plethoras of unstable code. Except for maybe XFCE, but I havent tried that out in a long time. Last I used unices for any graphical stuff, I didnt even use a window manager because they consume so many resources and do so...
