SONY D25s PDCP New Old Stock

I have two of D25S's. One next to the bed and one at the office. The D25 has such a great, quality feel about it. It's just nice and solid. They sound great paired with a PRII. As far as mods go, the only one I've done is the "electrical tape on the inside of the window" mod. Worked like a...

cp-mike - I don't have to resize them for the 5.5G. I want hi-rez for looking at them when hooking up to the tv. I have about 700 images and they take up 450 MB. I don't think that's too much space.

opiumden34 - Yeah, the coverflow, while a great idea, overpowers the Classic. It takes quite some time for the covers to come up on mine. lonereaction - Maybe my pictures don't work because they were taken with a nice SLR.

My experience with the 160GB Classic: Sound: Petty good overall. Not as nearly as liquid as my iMod though. UI: This is where it breaks down. The design of the UI is much nicer and more polished than previous generations. It does not, however, work smoothly though. 2-4 seconds lag time to...

tips for increasing sound quality of an ipod

Yeah, it probably would be common knowlege if there were a gain reducing program for mac or pc for people to use with their ALAC files.

tips for increasing sound quality of an ipod

Great for people who have Macs. Is there something similar for PC?

tips for increasing sound quality of an ipod

ipodpj says he uses Audacity for mac. He recommended Foobar for pc users, but I don't think it supports iTunes. I'm guessing you'd have to rip to flac or wav and use a third program to convert it back to iTunes. That's just too much. It would be nice if there were a program that did what we're...

tips for increasing sound quality of an ipod

I thought the idea was to lower more than the volume. I believe if you just lower the volume, you will still get distortion when using the ipod EQ since most recordings today are so damned compressed. Isn't headroom the key?

tips for increasing sound quality of an ipod

Mmm, it looks like SRS is used only when using a computer as a source. DFX does not look like it supports iTunes.

So is there a way to reduce lossless files by say 2db, without having to redo tracks, album names, track number, CD number, adding CD artwork, etc. ?

tips for increasing sound quality of an ipod

Tried that, already. When I drag from iTunes to mp3gain, nothing comes over with the drag. The mp3gain box is as empty as ever. I'm assuming the "music files" you are referring to are the ones I see in iTunes. Am I the only one who wasn't seemingly born the the ability to manipulate this stuff...

tips for increasing sound quality of an ipod

Okay, I guess I need a "normalization for dummies" thread. I'm still pretty new to the whole DAP thing. Just got my iMod. I downloaded mp3gain. Can I take my iTunes audio and plug it into mp3gain, normalize it, and then put the files back into iTunes? I read all the material in the help section...

Spending 1K on rig is nothing.....

Yeah, almost any hobby gets expensive when you get serious about it. My wife just bought a D-30. Pricey. The Head-fi thing is actually pretty cheap (so far ) when I compare how much I've spent and am still spending on my interests. It's funny, I don't seem to realize how much is being spent...
