How Much Do You Have?
Just curious how many songs the average head-fi'er has in their library. Were all here for the music first, so what do you got? My Itunes Library lists me at 12,505 songs, 1154 albums, 254.19 GB but Ive got a long way to go until I finish uploading what I want from my college's music...- Dutchess of York

Alessandro MS1000 and MS Ultimate - DIY & modding [56K warning]
Gentleman (and ladies): I believe I just put the worlds first Grado 2k25's on my head, and I am completely floored. Holy Sh!t, they have everything I love about the AKG K500s, but they are just so much more natural sounding. I have no trouble with bass or treble, everything just sounds...- Dutchess of York

Does It Exist?...... (HD650 + K500 = ?)
After pulling and all-nighter, I still dont have my essay finished, but I think I have come up with what I think an ideal headphone would be for me. I think it is common to equate soundstage with the high end, but I got two things I didnt bargain for when I bought my HD650s and AKG K500s...- Dutchess of York

Upgrading from ATH-A700
I have no experience with PA2V2, but a set of Sennheisers (HD650/600/580) are always a nice investment, as they scale so well. You could pick a used HD600 in you range, or a used HD580 (extremely similar from what ive read) in the 130-200$ range. That being said, it doesnt sound like the HDs...- Dutchess of York

Recabled D1001 vs RX700
@ fjrabon: hope you enjoy them, I was very impressed (considering their price tag) of the RX-700s out of the box, but I would say you do get about a 20% improvement when you remove the felt and burn them in (the only mod ive performed so far). Just something to keep in mind when you check...- Dutchess of York

JVC HAR-X700 and 900. Two of the best dynamics? Am I nuts?
I wouldn't know of the drawbacks, but it sounds like a great idea. Maybe you could try it with the RX700s as a 30$ loss is not a bad as 60$s(+ materials/time moding). Can anyone think of an example of making a closed phone open?- Dutchess of York
