    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Unfortunately after only 1.5 years my right earbud has gone dead. Sad cause I really liked my GR07's and I babied them. I've contacted VSONIC about two weeks ago and again several days ago but no reply.   Anyone have any luck with getting VSONIC to reply about replacing my broken GR07? Build...

    Denon D7000 Eq settings

i use it with an apogee duet and the treble is juss a bit too piercing so i took away a little bit of the high end.

    Is buy.com shipping the D2000 for $197?

i wouldn't bother either. i waited 30 days before my order was cancelled by amazon for taking too long.

The D7000 IS an improvement from the D5000

Compared to stock D2000's, I think the biggest difference with the D7000's is the much clearer and more forward mid range. There's also more bass impact and control on the D7000's but I don't think there's as much bass extension on the D7000 (noticed this on only really low notes). Overall...

    Denon D7000 in stock @ J&R

i pre-ordered mine a day before they were listed as back in stock. they shipped soon after they were back in stock and i received them in the mail about 3 days ago on Monday (roughly a week for them to be delivered). haven't gotten a chance to go pick them up though since my billing address...

Are the silver pieces of Denon AH-D2000 of plastic or metal?

they are made of magnesium. it's a metal and it's very lightweight.

    ~<$400 Upgrade

the D2000's do well with electronic. if you're going the denon route, instead of getting the D5000 i'd save the money and just get the D2000. you can use the extra money you saved to modify it (wood cups, new cable, etc) which is the only difference between the D2000 and D5000 anyways. also...

    Denon D7000 in stock @ J&R

nice. i pre-ordered these yesterday not thinking i'd get them until at least 2 weeks. it's been a day and they're back in stock been wanting to compare these to my D2000's and see exactly how much better these "bigger drivers/stronger magnets" would be.

another "what 200-250 price range cans should i get" thread

The D2000's will go well with electronic/hip-hop. Not sure how well they do with rock though. $196 for the Denon's is a really good deal too since I got mine for $220 used. I still don't regret buying it used for a little bit more because it was still practically new

Good headphones for a dorm room situation (AH-D2000?)

i use my D2000's for my dorm room and they work great. to be honest, i think my listening volume is higher than average since i can't really hear much outside noise when playing music and my room mates can definitely hear the leakage. i still hear sirens and door alarms, but normal talking is at...

Denon AH-D2000's under $200? Any chance?

well I ordered from buy.com/buynow.com (same company apparently) a while ago when they said they had one left in stock and at a great price (somewhere around $200 brand new). Turns out they didn't have them in stock so they said they were sorry and gave me a 10% discount while putting me on...

Closed phones similar to Image X10's

When it comes to portability, I really love my Image X10's and I'm very content with where I'm at with my portable rig. I recently got an Apogee Duet for my macbook though and after trying out my Senn HD-25's with it, I was pretty underwhelmed and am now looking for an upgrade in the laptop rig...

    Portable War: K81DJ v. ES7 v. HD25-1 II v. Other?

I can vouch for the durability of the HD-25's. So far it's the only headphone I've had that hasn't had to be sent in for repair or replacement (other than my less-than-one-month-old Image X10's). I think durability should be just as important as portability, since whatever you buy has to last...

    Klipsch Image X10 Appreciation Thread

Just got these a few days ago. SQ-wise I'm pretty happy since they're pretty much exactly as everyone else described them: lots of good bass, forward mids, slightly recessed highs etc. Having come from the Denon C700's, the Image's cord is much thinner and loves to get tangled though. The...

    basic question about 0404 usb

Well, to continue the hijacking process, I've got a question too I'm planning to get a laptop and was wondering: does the E-MU 0404 acts as an amp/soundcard/dac? In other words, if all I had was a laptop, headphones, and the 0404, would I need to buy an additional soundcard and headphone...

How Low is Low Enough? Subwoofer Questions...

If you plan on keeping the sub on the floor, I'm not sure your speakers will be raised high enough. My tweeters are a little bit below ear level (down to around my neck) and I notice it sounds better when I slouch and bring my ears down to the tweeters. I think at this point for me, putting my...

How Low is Low Enough? Subwoofer Questions...

If you have any local circuit city's nearby, try calling them and asking if they have any velodyne vrp-1200's. It's a 12" sub and should be on clearance. I got mine new for US$172 and I think display models go for around $145. It goes down to around 27 Hz. For your budget (I'm assuming $500ish)...

    Denon AH-C700 vs MylarOne XBi

I bought the C700's for myself and the X3i's for my brother. I can't do a comparison right now since I've sent my C700's in for warranty work since the stress relief crapped out on me I can't comment on the XBi's, but even the X3i's had more bass than my C700, so I would only imagine the XBi...

Opinions about HD 555, HD 25-1 and Atrio M5

If comfort is a very high concern, you might want to consider a different headphone. If I wear my HD-25's for a few hours or more and take them off, my ears feel "bruised" (can't think of a better word) from all the on-ear clamping.
