Upgrade from RE2?
It's been a pretty bad month for me, headphone-wise. The week of Christmas, I had my RE2's go bad on me (the wires were fraying, and finally gave up after so much abuse), so I switched back to my X3i's... but then the X3i's gave up on me too, the left driver died. The only in-ears I had left was...- BetaLyr

Your LAPTOP Predictions....2009
Lenovo's revamp of their ThinkPad line last summer was great, but I'm hoping that they'll release a larger version of the X61t, possibly to be called the X500t? Lenovo will also probably update their ThinkPad line again in Q3. Laptop-equivalent of GTX260/280? And definitely i7 for laptops...- BetaLyr

Firefox 3.0 Download Day (World Record!)
I downloaded it a few hours ago and am still getting used to it... My old theme won't work with 3.0 so I have to wait a while for them to update it :/ Anyway, it passes Acid2 now, and does much better on Acid3 than it did before.. Seems pretty stable, too. And that save tabs upon close...- BetaLyr

anyone move from fl to nj? suggestions needed
You should probably move to Queens or Brooklyn. To get to the city by train is usually ~30-45 minutes from the outer parts of NYC (not including bus travel time). Safe and quiet neighborhoods = Queens and Brooklyn. In most neighborhoods outside the city, you can rent an entire house for...- BetaLyr

I need new headphones - up to $300?
But the thing is that they need to be bought from Amazon. (I got some Amazon gift certificates for my birthday.) - I don't want new in-ears, because I'm already very happy with my RE2 - Full-sized, unless you can convince me otherwise - Preferably closed These will be for home use, and...- BetaLyr

retail stores for audiophile headphones?
AudioCubes (aka AC Gears) doesn't have many headphones in the store. Some Audio Technicas (Ax00, ADx00, and others), lower-end Grado.. You can check out Guitar Center. B&H has lots of headphones online, but I'm not sure if they have them in store.- BetaLyr

Too hot for headphone listening.
I'll be using in-ears outside, as I always do. The AC is on, and the speakers are handling Bach right now, so it's pretty nice inside. I was outside a few minutes ago, and it was scorching.. It's too damn hot outside!- BetaLyr

Non famous bands/musicians that you like.
My favorite band is Spitalfield (who not many people have heard of), but they disbanded last year. Gatsbys American Dream is another good band, and they haven't disbanded yet. There's also Brandtson, Time Spent Driving (who almost no one has ever heard of), Autopilot Off (they disbanded)... -

Playstation 3 backwards compatible
The 40GB model is not backwards compatible. I think it's because of the hardware differences between the 40GB PS3 and the PS1/PS2. The 60/80GB models are backwards compatible. (Probably because they use more similar hardware.) You can check the backwards compatible games on Sony's website...- BetaLyr

Amazing imitating Bird!! (not a parrot ;))
Wow.. chainsaw! That sounded so real! I wonder if it could learn to imitate orchestral pieces.. I love all of Attenborough's documentaries. Life of Birds is my third favorite (after Planet Earth and The Living Planet).- BetaLyr

Careers in Headphones/Audio?
Recording engineer is a really interesting job, but doesn't pay much. You could also become an electronics engineer and design headphones/amps, but I don't think it's a highly demanded job (designing headphones/amps, I mean).- BetaLyr

OMG....this is freakin' wild!!!
I've had this before, but in powder form. The powdered form tastes very strange, by itself, but these go great with tomatoes. Other foods, I'm not sure.. I think it only works well with sour/bitter things.- BetaLyr

Alien Video to be Revealed Tomorrow
Uhhh... wow. I don't completely believe it, but I won't dismiss my skepticism until I see it. If they only had one person examine the tape since last July, then I doubt that it's real. From the article: ""The guy lives on a freaking government pension," Hofmann said, referring to Romanek...- BetaLyr

Need help ripping CD's
Make sure that you're actually ripping the CDs in iTunes, and not just dragging and dropping the songs (last time I checked, it didn't work). Also, try ripping the CDs with something like MediaMonkey and importing the files into iTunes.- BetaLyr

ATH-CK7 vs. Denon C551 vs. RE2
I definitely would not recommend the C551, at all. My friend has a pair, and IMO, they have no soundstage to speak of, and the bass reminds me of my really bad Sony clip-ons. The RE2 isolates very well with the included biflanges. The bass is nice and tight, though might need some EQing for a...- BetaLyr
