Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Quote: Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking I might go monitor audio's since the 650's I have are a very longish loaner pair. I will get my own but since I'm gonna have these for a while I figured I might get the tubes now and then get my own 650's when I return these. I love the...- Tone Def

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm a struggling student and hence, I'm looking to get into tubes on the cheap. It's either this or get a pair of Monitor Audio BX2's. Just wanna make sure that the decision I make nets me the best bang for buck right now cause this will blow my savings. lol Cheers- Tone Def

Hey all I have the 650's amped via the headphone out on my NAD 3020 amp. I'm using the stx as my dac. How much higher would the 650's scale with a proper headphone amp say a Bottlehead Crack with the speedball? Thanks- Tone Def

Quote: No worries mate. One day I will own an Ananta to go with my Grand Seiko - Snowflake to be specific. More realistically I reckon the first serious big money watch I'll own will be a marine master 300. It's good to finally meet someone who doesn't think I'm a nutjob for wanting...- Tone Def

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Quote: I've seen people around here get their knickers in a knot about this. I don't really get it though. It's your equipment and ultimately your ears. I've used eq to make my 595s warmer but I haven't felt the need to eq anything with the 650s. In fact, I much prefer them uneq'd. ...- Tone Def

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
My cousin dropped his Senns with me and as such I've been able to give the 650's a proper audition. All I can say is, "Sweet Jesus, the hype is justified." I've fallen in love with Sennheiser again. I've finally found the bass I've been missing with my 595s. The can is warm, lush, inviting and...- Tone Def

Asus Essence One Headphone Amp/DAC (CeBIT 2011)
Thanks for that. If the dac in the E1 is only marginally better than the one in my stx then I think I'll just upgrade my amp or my cans maybe even roll some opamps while I wait for a comparison review. Cheers- Tone Def

Asus Essence One Headphone Amp/DAC (CeBIT 2011)
Quote: So, you're of the opinion that the DAC in the E1 is superior to the one in the STX? I'm curious because I have a STX and I'm wondering if the E1 is a worthwhile upgrade, ie. worthy of $300 or if I should get it at the expense of something else in my decidedly mid-fi setup. Hope...- Tone Def
