my experience is the reverse... with lps-1.2 powering the ifi chain, i get less dynamic, sound is thinner/weaker.. i took it out within 5 mins. Not sure if anything done wrong, it's a definite NO from what i hear. my setup is different from yours. you may want to consider how i connect, from...- PPkiller

From my experience, Igalvanic pairs well with Idefender with external power source. It sounds better. Maybe u can try comparing the 5v Ipower against a micro USB cable from micro iusb3 powering the Idefender.- PPkiller

I have gotten another igalvanic from canjam. now i'm using micro iusb with igalvanic. Did not encounter any white noise, but i'm facing audio dropout when the igalvanic isololation is in the middle position. up position solve the problem but i will continue to troubleshoot further as to why this...- PPkiller

edited the above. previously i mention "dropout" but it is not correct. "lost connection" is the correct word. when it happens, the SSpeed led on igalvanic will be power off. only the power led is lighted.- PPkiller

GHoldridge, do you use idefender for the iG3 in your chain? because of some problem, i have swap my iglavanic bundle to micro iusb. but once you know the improvement IG3 brings, it's very hard to do without. so i'm considering whether to purchase another IG3 and stack with iusb, and how should...- PPkiller

looks like my experience is not an isolated case, to IFI rep, when idefender is in the chain, is the switch on igalvanic suppose to stay in the middle or it should be flipped downward? can help to check with the engineering for answer/feedback?- PPkiller

FYI the faulty Idefender I had was outputting at 4.5v under load. The new one is around 4.79 under load which I think is much better. I'm using PortaPow usb meter.- PPkiller

trying to get ifi to clarify on their post. anyway i replaced my idefender, the bundled idefender seems to be faulty/not able to handle the load downstream(igalvanic + my audient id14). It's good that it died and i can replace it with another piece. also i notice there's some material difference...- PPkiller
