detroit techno
He has only one in particular that I know of... it's called Color Strip. -
detroit techno
I really recommend Jimmy Edgar if you're looking for purist detroit sound. It's cold, mechanical, and sexy. I believe he was on Warp records at one time or another, although I don't know if he's still on their label now for sure. -

Benn Jordan - Pale Blue Dot: A Tribute To Carl Sagan
Note: Benn uploaded this free to download from What.CD. He'd be more than happy to know that I've shown this to you all, plus he's a bit of an audio nut himself. I'm sure all you head-fiers who want to get sucked into it and have a love for outer space or Carl Sagan will absolutely love this... -
chill-out artists?
Definitely check out Boards of Canada and Ugress. Right up your alley. Helios is really nice too but may be a bit too ambient for you. Tonepoem is also very awesome. CHECK DEM OUT~ -

post your grado mods....
You're better off making a Beyer cushion fit your Grado. I'm afraid Liberators are a bit tricky to come by now.- iPatcH

post your grado mods....
After giving up my SR100s I started to really miss their red and black color scheme. So I whipped out some paint pens and changed all the lettering and colored the grills! This is my first attempt and there are still some silver specks here and there but overall it's really really nice...- iPatcH

Music to Get Work Done To
Prefuse 73 always does it for me. Also The Flashbulb's album "Reunion" is really jazzy and makes me more focused on work. -
Need Help, i want more of this! (Acid Jazz, drum & basse, i don't know what)
You're looking for more stuff similar to Vsnares? Are you looking for music with big breaks and orchestral pieces or just music we recommend in general? -
RS-1 recable options please!
To my knowledge, recabling RS-1 is impossible without lots of potential risks, for example, cracking/chipping/breaking the wood enclosure. Honestly you're best off leaving the stock cable on. =)- iPatcH

Looking for studio/mixing headphones
So I'm going to start investing in gear for live music performances (electronic stuff, from my laptop) and I am working on getting a little "workstation" set up in my house. I don't care too much for speakers (although I don't doubt that there are great studio monitors, but this is a headphone...- iPatcH

Best bang for the buck
Two come to mind, the Beyerdynamic DT770/80 and the Audiotechnica ATH-A700. They both go for about your range and don't really need an amp. These two in particular are really good and always highly recommended, at least for being closed and in your price range.- iPatcH

Painting My Grados
Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. =) Is a clear coat necessary or just overkill for those little letters? Will any paint of choice do, or are there some brands that I should consider?- iPatcH

Painting My Grados
Just a quick double painting to say I've gotten the reterminating details down (I think) so now I just want to fix up some of the paint job on my Grados, the red lettering and such. Would it require not only a red paint, but a clear coat of some sort? And I might want to make the grill on it...- iPatcH

Painting My Grados
If that's the case then I will just have to see how hot my dryer can get. I don't want to end up paying $30 to reterminate something that costs me less than $10, but I could see the use in future projects, so...- iPatcH

Painting My Grados
Definitely checking out the gallery for just a basic idea of how it should look. I'm not replacing the cable, so a plug and heatshrink would be perfect. I noticed on the site it seems there are different diameters to choose from. Which would work best with a Grado cable and one of those Neutrik...- iPatcH

Painting My Grados
Someone mentioned to me about a "paint pen?" Would that be something relatively permanent that I could use to detail the lettering? And are there any brands that would work well on the plastic?- iPatcH

Painting My Grados
Figured this might be a better place to ask than just the Grado mod thread... Since I sold my red lettered SR100 I have gone back to my trusty ol' 225's. I really miss the look of the red lettering and I'm considering doing some cosmetic mods and either rubbing off the faded silver or...- iPatcH
