Blended or Single Malt?
I finally convinced my wife to get me a bottle of scotch for Christmas, as a regular thing. It was maybe 5 years ago, after 25 years of marriage. She surprised me with bottle of Pinch. She was in a hurry and asked the clerk to recommend one. I should have known better than to tell her to...- tako_tsubo

The Stax thread (New)
Another vote for the Pico...good neutral dac, but a touch too smooth on top. In your price range I am liking the Amb's gamma 2. A Mister X build will be under $400. I have had mine now for about 3 weeks and really liking it. I have enough hours on it to hear the differences of the 3 digital...- tako_tsubo

Is Steve Jobs an Audiophile?
Wouldn't be surprised if Jobs doesn't show up in some picture with Bowers and Wilkins headphones on. Nice tie in to the the apple store selling this HP.- tako_tsubo

Axl Rose: Appetite for...well...just about anything, apparently
I like my caption better.... Looks like the Ax is reaching for that last piece of pie and go into one of those crazy high pitched screams of delight he likes to do- tako_tsubo

Eddie Current Equilibrato
Interesting......but is this just a ZDT designed with different tubes? Will the SQ really be that different from a ZDT/ZD say for a HD800?- tako_tsubo

Buyer's Anxiety?
Actually you are just shifting your personal spending money around. You found a deal for the Boss thingy bob...and now shifting this personal "want" with something else. I presume that you shouldn't have a problem returning the overpriced item...which as has been mentioned, a similar deal will...- tako_tsubo

The Stax thread (New)
Congrats on picking out a Stax system Bullseye. I don't listen to much metal ...but my Lambda based Stax do sound good listening to Porcupine Tree. The speed of the electrostats is what will make metal appealing...- tako_tsubo

Audio fidelity - how long do you stick with a piece of gear?
I am a pretty faithful guy to equipment that sounds good to me. My vintage set up I bought in 1987, Carver The Receiver along with Polk Monitor 10b in htf real rosewood veneer. I have been reading and experimenting with cap change outs...bypass caps ( I have Ninja'ed Onix/av123 speakers)...- tako_tsubo

15,000 songs later......
Well done Sparky Although for all its poor vocal performance...Liz Phair's Exiles In Guyville, just does it for me and is a definite when I exercise. REM...Monster is one of my all time favorites, especially on a vigorous hike.- tako_tsubo

Post Your Ukulele Pic Here
Hi Robert....bumping this up. Hey I grew up in Hawaii and first learned to play the uke as a kid...but then picked it up again in 2003. Have a red Flea with rosewood fretboard and a classic Fluke...will have to set up some pictures. I love playing the uke despite my lack of skill. Someday...- tako_tsubo
