Anyone able to repair the plug? Without realizing it, I bought these without a warranty from Amazon warehouse deals. About a year in, the plug started to develop a short.

Here's the hard case I was talking about.  The headphones fit snugly but the case is well built and is still solid after years of use and fits well in the pocket.  I wouldn't use a case that didn't fit well in the pocket, especially during warm months where I don't have the extra coat pockets...

There's a lot of talk about hard cases.  I really like(ed) the leather case that came with these.  I somehow lost it out of my coat pocket.  The headphones were in use.  I found an old hard case I had that works perfectly because of the small size of these earpieces.  I bought it at Walmart...

Will these make me hate mp3s?  I don't have "Golden ears" but I'm loving Google Music all access which I'm pretty sure delivers 320 mp3 quality.

I got a pair of $20 Altec Lansing MZX106 buds.  I'm still looking for something better but these will do for now.   Anyone have experience with them?  Do they develop more bass after break in?   Tim

I have had a number of Sony  earbuds in the past and have been pretty happy with them.  All have been in the $79 (retail).  My MDR EX-300 phones have developed a short whter the short left wire meets the main cord.   I'm looking at the Sony MDREX310LP, which are $56.88 from Amazon, even less...

I know that they eliminated the EQ but there are no sound settings whatsoever (besides volume)? Amazing. I'm going to sit out this generation. I'm happy with my Archos V1 recorder with Rockbox (upgraded to 120 gigs). I don't really need portable video so I'll wait to see what the next...
