ULTRASONE NEW ANNOUNCED HEADPHONE Signature Pro
Just got an older pair of these (#265) that are well broken in and all I can say is I'm sad that I didn't get a pair earlier. To my ears they are incredibly neutral with a small bump in the lower octaves, not unlike a pair of speakers with the addition of a subwoofer. The mids are very smooth...- kimragone

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
I purchased a pair from a local dealer but unfortunately they have a slight channel imbalance so I'm gonna have to return them. I read a post that stated the same and that it went away after further use but I'm not taking a chance on that.- kimragone

Headphone and speaker amp combo...whats out there?
Have you tried to connect the HE-560 to the speaker terminals on your NAD? If you read up on the correct way to do this it's perfectly safe. Connected to a speaker amp my HE-500 sounds better than any headphone amp I've had. If it works you can use a switch box to select either speakers or...- kimragone

I am looking for the best closed back headphone with great soundstage, clarity details.
Have you considered the Shure SRH1540. Reading your requirements it seems like they would work for you. I absolutely love mine to the point where I could easily live with just that headphone if I had to.- kimragone

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
I got the ATH-R70x last week and my initial impressions are that they are incredibly easy to listen to and respond well to all my preferred genres which is pop and rock from the 70’s to now. I mainly listen to Spotify Premium from a Macbook Pro using the optical output to a Schiit Magni/Modi...- kimragone

New to the Headphone world -- Need ones under $120
I have the Sony MDR-7506 and while it's a pretty good sounding headphone for the price, the lower treble has a bump that makes it slightly sibilant on some tracks. Recently I purchased the CAL and out of the box it was way too bassy and not enough treble energy. I was kinda bummed because I...- kimragone

Bose OE2 - I brought my own lube...
Quote: That's because your source won't say something like "Notice the deep, textured bass" when you push the button to hear what they sound like :-) All kidding aside though, I have their IEM2 and use them for very low volume when I need to hear what else is going on around me.- kimragone

Klipsch Image One vs Sennheiser HD25's
I also got in on the $32.50 deal but I'm not a big fan of the way they sound. I then started experimenting with different ear pads and I think that a velour type would mellow out the bass, so I ordered a pair of HD 25 II velour ear pads for 20 bucks. If that does the trick it's still a pretty...- kimragone

IEM that has good coherence but also good soundstage, is there one?
You should try the TF10. It can be had for a very reasonable price and is still considered a top tier earphone with a relaxed tonal balance and a really good sound stage.- kimragone

Choosing between 3 earphones under $100
I've had the NuForce NE-700X and currently own the Phiaton PS 20. IMHO the Phiaton kills the Nuforce in SQ and in comfort. It's an amazing earphone for the money and you can wear them for hours with no discomfort due to the half in ear design. I can't comment on the Beyer's. Welcome to...- kimragone

2.0 Speakers Compilation: Best for <$500
My journey in powered monitors started about 3 years ago when I picked up a pair of Audioengine A2's. Nice little speaker considering the size, but a sub is definitely recommended. Then I came across a pair of KRK V4 and the Audioengine quickly went to a spare guest room. Much better definition...- kimragone

Review/Opinions on Studio Monitors (ADAM, Event, Mackie, Genelecs, Dynaudio)
Just a heads up on the Event 20/20. The amplifiers in them get so hot that you could burn yourself on them. The Event TR8 doesn't have that problem and has better sounding mids and highs. -

Blog: Fanboyism and Brand Loyalty
For me, branding has a different reason. I have replaced all my headphones in my collection with Sony headphones and my goal is to keep it that way. It's my way of limiting the headphones that could tempt me and basically keep it simple (and easy on my wallet). I'm not looking for the Holy... -
Whats your most comfortable Cans?
To me the Sony MDR-F1 is without a doubt the most comfortable pair of headphones I've ever had. The SA-5000 is pretty comfy as well, but still not even close to the F1.- kimragone
