I purchased a pair from a local dealer but unfortunately they have a slight channel imbalance so I'm gonna have to return them. I read a post that stated the same and that it went away after further use but I'm not taking a chance on that.

Have you considered the Shure SRH1540. Reading your requirements it seems like they would work for you. I absolutely love mine to the point where I could easily live with just that headphone if I had to.

You should try the TF10. It can be had for a very reasonable price and is still considered a top tier earphone with a relaxed tonal balance and a really good sound stage.

I've had the NuForce NE-700X and currently own the Phiaton PS 20. IMHO the Phiaton kills the Nuforce in SQ and in comfort. It's an amazing earphone for the money and you can wear them for hours with no discomfort due to the half in ear design. I can't comment on the Beyer's.    Welcome to...

Just a heads up on the Event 20/20. The amplifiers in them get so hot that you could burn yourself on them. The Event TR8 doesn't have that problem and has better sounding mids and highs.
