You need more gain than to drive K812 properly . This is K812's FR with low gain K812's FR with high gain amp- donthuang

THE COMPOSER OPEN BACK FLAGSHIP by AUSTRIAN AUDIO
K812 is truly the statement headphone by later AKG, but..... 1. Lacks balanced connect option, when most "hifi headphone amp" go for balanced, its become a problem. 2.Head-Fier actually not so like so call "neutral" timbre, in fact, most of us prefer slight rising treble for transients and...- donthuang

Seems the center dome takes more part than 812's ,and bigger bass port. Different corrugations around the ring part. Interesting, so why focus on low THD marketing language? This would makes the measurement gangs got goods on this headphone.- donthuang

As a headphone (luxuries) price tag 2500 euros, Austrain Audio really need some sales point / marketing language. At least show some exploded view of the 49mm driver, and try to explain what's "True Transient Technology",and why it matters.- donthuang

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now
Remove the absorber disc would ruin the tone of 3rd. Just take care of earpad, that't is the really problem need too long time aged. (remove earpad and you will see the bass-reflex vent, that's the key point.)- donthuang

My simple Evo review Pros + Clarity + Imaging + Smooth and pure timbre + Rather Good value compare mainstream IEMs Cons - Not so easy to fit/seal properly - In some case, transient not so vivid, lacks some excitement.* *transient speed is good, but to my taste, somehow too well-controlled...- donthuang

Try the final Audio nozzle adapters with e-type tips and comply t500, the sound change is fun. E-type tips would toward more V shape presence, T500 tips would toward darker and low-mid focus /relax sound. IMO, both of them sound not as balance as 2 flange tips, although easier to fit and much...- donthuang

That would make things more complicate, beside need total redesign crossover. DD and BA have rather different distortion model and group delay. I'm not say complicate things is bad, but complicate things usually more expensive.:smirk:- donthuang

I would say Andromeda and Evo are rather kind of different IEM. They takes very different point view on damping. Depend on differnet system, Evo would sound "dull" when Andromeda sound vivid, or Evo sound clarity but Andromeda sound somehow "loose".- donthuang

Its easy to answer: Conca lock style shell prove more room for new design 3-ba module. And MIM SS balanced robust/durability and cost. Why not aluminum or titanium? because accurate enough CNC is expensive, Some manufacturer would take this as "additional value". But a serious acoustic-design...- donthuang

I'm not refer the Moondrop X-01 claims "inspired" by ER4 ,that's sort of marketing, because there are also solid group fans of ER4S in China. (And they take a nickname of ER4 "Little 4") But the Yu9 audio's "ER4 clone" still sales on taobao now. Sorry for off topic.- donthuang
