    Can girls rock?

L7 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L7_%28band%29 The band gained a certain amount of notoriety for their performance at the 1992 Reading Festival, when Donita Sparks removed her tampon on-stage and threw it into the crowd in protest against the missiles being thrown by the crowd. In the UK...

    PCI-E soundcards

It says for Notebook computers. When they say Express card I think they mean the Notebook interface and not PCI-E. Could be wrong though as I know nothing about Notebook computers.

off-topic - Which desktop SPEAKERS (yes speakers) for my new computer

What's wrong with the setup I posted? It's what I use and they only cost me $850.00 CAD before tax. Regular price would be $950.00 but I talked them down $100.00. The satellites are extremely detailed and their diminutive size is belying of their sound quality. I've heard speakers that cost a...

    ncix.com selling KSC75s for $12.99 CAD (161 left!!!)

Yea, I saw that price last night when I was ordering my E6850 cpu but I just bought a pair from them a few weeks back for $14.99 so don't need them. Maybe I should have bought a pair anyway for modding practice.

    PCI-E soundcards

On the flip side my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz has no such thing as a Vista driver and has 3D sound issues in a number of games. I liked Audigy2 and I like X-Fi even more. For gaming purposes and as a digital transport to my EMU 0404 USB the X-Fi is good.

I used to have a PC that was a bit noisy, thanks to high rpm 80mm fans. I never noticed it much until someone pointed out to me how noisy it was. That set me upon my quest to learn to build a fairly quiet PC. I'm not anal about it like some though. If you use low rpm 120mm fans, quiet PSU like a...

off-topic - Which desktop SPEAKERS (yes speakers) for my new computer

If you can get an amp this is what I recommend for under a grand. Two of these satellites. http://www.energy-speakers.com/v2/pr...ine.php?id=318 And this powered subwoofer. http://www.energy-speakers.com/v2/pr...page.php?id=40

Cans with exaggerated bass and highs, hollow midrange. Around 50 $.

Koss TD65 fit that description. For what they cost they sound quite ok with deep bass but they are a bit on the heavy side for comfort. Koss doesn't make that model now but they have TD85 for $49.99 and I expect they sound very similar...

    X-Fi causing 595s to clip/pop?

OK, I changed mine to Line In in case an issue ever does pop up. I also changed record from "mic" to "what u hear" too. I could swear I changed it to that before and it was set back to mic when I looked. Sometimes I think Creative's software has a mind of its own.

I don't consider stuff like Portishead electronica, they use traditional electric instruments like guitars. Not saying you can't use guitars but their music is predominantly guitar which is not what electronica is about. Bluetech - Sines and Singularities (this is in the genre of psy-ambient...

OK, and if you want to improve sound quality even more later the HD595's will benefit from a better amp than the EMU 0404 provides. You will get better bottom end with a better amp.
