s a rule of thumb, any high impedance cans will work superbly with MB-E+. Low impedance & higly sensitive IEMs will not fare too well

I have owned both and have compared them side by side. If there is an improvement in H140 Optical against iMod/DIYmodded iPods, it will be quite marginal actually. But then the H140 optical SQ will improve dramatically with better DACs. Honestly I have abandoned the H120/Optical/DAC/Amp path...

IMO the battery powered STAX system IS the end of all dream setup for me. After discovering and tasting the "poison" of a modded SR-001 MK2, I have lost all desire to listen to anything else - that's a bold statement if you will.

From another perspective, I'd say that the SR-60 will benefit little from any portable amp. They are so easy to drive out of most DAPs. But if you are using your SR-60 as a home/desktop headphone, then you will be better off with a tube amp.
