Android, DLNA (Twonky) and USB Audio Player Integration
After much searching and experimenting, it appears there is no way to stream music files in Kit Kat over a DLNA/Twonky home network, and then out to an external USB audio dac. Experimenting with a Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition, USB Audio Player Pro works perfectly to my external DAC...- DDF

What's up with Headamp?
Put my order in for a Gilmore Lite on Aug 17th, and the paypal transaction closed the same day, so they graciously accepted my money. Still no amp. The web site shows its a 3 week wait. I ordered a unity gain version but no mention was made that it would extend the wait. I sent an email 4...- DDF

Gilmore Lite at Lower Gain
I just received my Denon AH-D2000s and I think my closed can search is over. They are extremely comfortable, well detailed, tonally balanced, very low fatigue (no harshness at all) and provide almost a speaker listening effect that is absorbing. I'm picking up a new Gilmore Lite to drive it...- DDF

D2000 vs DT250-250 Questions
Time to upgrade again, so the forums were searched and its down to these two. I just have a few critical questions I was hoping for help with. They'll be used in bed, laying down, next to my wife. So: - how is the leakage from the D2000s? Currently I use DT770s, and the leakage is...- DDF

DIY Kits OPA627 Legit?
I purchased 10 OPA627APs from DIY kits. There are at least 3 different markings in the bunch. Some are marked "Taiwan" on the underside. Does DIY Kits sell counterfeit OPA devices? Thanks, Dave- DDF

Cheap Transport with Great error Correction
Searched the archives but drew a blank on this one. Who seems to have the best optical read capability and error correction in a really cheap Cd or DVD player? You know the kind, the $200 or under ones from the major chains. Plan is to mate this with a good dac. Any suggestions? Error...- DDF

Best of Closed Cans
I fell in love with Beyer's DT250-250s but couldn't live with its evil twin, really vague imaging. I want to buy a "final" (ya I know ) set of closed (necessity) cans to use in bed (i.e. stay on fine when horizontal). I scoured the archives and nothing stood out. Sony 3ks or AT 900s were...- DDF

K81DJ - Is it just me?
Mine are boomy and muffled, but the boom is just outrageous. Its a one note pitchless drone thats so bad, on some songs I can't even hear the second guitar. Source gear is modded dac ah, MSB link dac, PCDP (Sony) and iRiver MP3 player, its the same on everything (with or without a go vibe 5)...- DDF

Lite Dac Ah Measurements and Passive Mod
I received my Dac Ah this week and, after correcting the output resistors to 148 ohms (for the +6V supply) and tweaking the offset pot for 3.3V dc at the combined dac output to center the dynamic range, I have to say I was very disappointed. It sounded somewhat distorted and the bass would lose...- DDF

Decent sounding PCDP <$100?
I have the Sony D-NE330 and the sound is *nasty*. Hard papery nasty mids. Anti skip and features are great but its sound is starting to drive me crazy in the office. Does anyone even make a decent sounding $100 player any more?- DDF

Lavry DA10 vs Stello Jitter rejection
Time to replace the MSB Link DAC and its between the Javry DA10 and Stello DA100 or DA220. My source has a very high quality o/p as far as error correction and analog signal quality is concerned, but its jitter performance isn't really high-end. Can anyone explain the basic mechanisms...- DDF

DT250-250 vs DT770-600 or?
I currently own DT770's, 600 ohms, amped with a Go Vibe 5. Great image stability, seperation and placement, and the bass of the Beyers works with the Go Vibes lighter character. The combo is just too agressive up top for me, and its the 770s doing most of the damage. Mids could be better to...- DDF

High Z HD amp? And DT770 600 ohm Impedance Measure
Measured my older DT770 600 ohm versions today. 580 ohms at dc, 630 ohms at 10 Hz, then jumping up to 720 ohms at 100Hz, down to 600 ohms at 1 kHz then back up a bit to 620 ohms at 10 kHz. The impedance peak at 100Hz will defintely give it that bass monster edge when there is some source...- DDF

Airhead and Supermini IV Questions
Hi, This is my first post in the forum. With a new baby, I've moved more and more to HD listening, using Stax SR-5s for the stereo rig, and DT770s for PC and portable (iriver). I was making plans to design my own HD amp but after visiting the forum today, realized there's not much point...- DDF
