The issue seems to be solved. The guy in the German Hifi-Forum first measured with 48khz music files. Rockbox obviously is not optimized for this kind of playback. After the user switched to 44.1khz everything looked flat again, similar to the OF.

Yes, but I think the pitch patch has no influence on the highs.   The same user also RMAA'ed the iRiver H120/D10 with Rockbox. Also there one can see a clear decrease in the highs.   €dit: The first RMAA chart of the first link is the Clip+ rockboxed with no sound influencer enabled.

For the time beeing I switched back to the OF. I like to have a library with all music in it (internal flash + microsd). But I'm still hoping for a working RB version for the Clip+.

Yes, I have upgraded the battery to 2200mah. The battery life with the SSD is almost equal to that with the HDD, I would assume. At least it does not add a lot of extra battery time.

I use my JH13 only for (semi)portable music sessions. As this is only about 10% of my total music listening time, also the JH13 do not get more "air time". The reason, why I don't use them more often is: Stax O2 MkI and Stax SR-404 Ltd.

My Clip+ is on it's way...
