Advice on a smallish full size amp for my ADs.

That's good to know. I'd like to make some headroom in case I ever buy the LCDs or something like that. If it's around the Asgard's size, but is a DAC/Amp, that would probably be okay. I'll think about it anyway. Thanks so much for the help. :)

Alrighty, will do. The custom order is really nice, haha. Glad they have an option for a larger jack, I'd hate to use adapters all the time.

Advice on a smallish full size amp for my ADs.

I actually have the FiiO E17, it doesn't really do it for me. I think I'm going to need something with a bit more power. It's excellent for when I need to amp my phone's output though.

That looks pretty nice actually. It gives me a gain option, do you happen to know what's best for orthos? Probably just standard?

Advice on a smallish full size amp for my ADs.

Do you happen to know of anything good? I always just depended on Schiit, but their gear isn't the most portable - at least the higher-end stuff. Really, I would be okay with a DAC/Amp that was Bifrost-sized, I just don't want to have to carry two hunks of metal and interconnects when I take my...

Advice on a smallish full size amp for my ADs.

I have the Alpha Dogs, and I was looking for something more portable than my Bifrost/Asgard stack. I just wanted to know your guys' opinions on OTL amps, similar to the xDuoo TA-03 DAC/Amp on Massdrop currently. Does anyone use something similar with their planars? Is there an all-in-one of a...

Heh, sounds like you tried to use IEMs on this 6W amp or something.

    Removing Imperfections in AH-D5000

Hey, someone just accepted my offer on ebay, and I should be getting some of the coveted Denon AH-D5000's! Awesome!   Although they should be arriving in good condition, they still have a few nicks and scratches in the wood. Understandable - similar to the chrome on old touches, a small...

Review by 'MacroPower' on item 'Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO Closed Studio Headphones - 250 Ohms'

Though these are by no means perfect headphones, their price and excellent bass make them one of the best headphones you can buy for under $200.   These headphones are very fun to listen to. They give a very forward, full sound that completely immerses you in your music. Bass is deep and...

Review by 'MacroPower' on item 'FiiO E09K'

I have used this amp for about a year now, and I must say it has served me well.    POWER Through many different headphones, the FiiO E09K hasn't skipped a beat, and has driven everything from high power, low impedance to high sensitivity to 250ohm headphones. It really is a great amp to...

Help deciding on which headphones to try

Well, it's mainly after wearing them for an hour or two that you can start to feel them becoming uncomfortable. But if you're sure that those fit, you'll probably be fine.

Help deciding on which headphones to try

If you want something slightly bass-heavy, the AKG K545 is a good option. The ATH M50X is a bit overrated in my option... Do you have large ears? Because both of those are a bit small and could be uncomfortable. I don't know much about the other two.

    Good Amp and DAC?

Unless you're getting interference, get an amp before a dac. It's going to make a larger difference, especially since you have a sound card already.

Bass friendly headphones for electronic music to compliment Sennheiser HD600s

If you're actually producing, you might want to aim for a planar magnetic, like the Mad Dogs. I would recommend the DT 770s, but they do tend to wash out the mids and highs with overpowering bass. Some of the open DTs might be a good option, but I've never used any of them.

will dac eliminate the buzzing sound?

I had the same problem. It's likely just noise that's amplified via your amp. You won't notice it by plugging headphones directly into your computer. You can fix the problem by buying a DAC, internal or external doesn't matter.   Again, I had this same exact problem and it's likely not a...

    Earbuds for 60$?

They're made for use in a studio. So yeah, they won't enhance the bass or smooth the treble. By custom, I mean people will mold them to fit their ears perfectly. People who like flat audio will stills use them for regular litening, however, and not all monitors are custom.   Edit: I may have...

    Earbuds for 60$?

In ear monitors have a flat frequency responce and are often custom made to fit your ear. All in-ear monitors are in-ear earphones, but not all in-ear earphones are in-ear monitors.   OSTRY KC06 are sturdy and fall right in your price range. Probably not the best for really bass-heavy music...

    Earphones around $150?

I guess it depends on where you go in the US! Where I live, Macy's only has clothing and purses and crap, haha.   I've not owned a whole ton of in-ear stuff, so I probably can't give you a descent recommendation. Really, the only in-ear I've been happy with is the OSTRY KC06, which you...

    Good Amp and DAC?

If you want a tube, take a look at the Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 Plus Edition.   If you need / want more accurate audio, the Modi/Magni stack is a good choice.   If you need something portable, check out the Fiio E17 DAC and E09K dock/amp.

Rookie needs some advices. Looking for Closed Headphones.

I can vouch for the DT 770. You can very easily change RCA to 3.5mm to use the X3 with your TV (I'm assuming that the X3 has a line-in port?).

    Earphones around $150?

We might need more details. You said you want earphones, correct? Earphones are often in-ear - items you mentioned are over-ear (circumaural headphones). I'm just going to assume you want something closed, so sound doesn't leak in or out.   Also, I'm not sure where you would buy most of the...
