I see, i didn't notice any hissing probably because most of my IEMs are 16-32ohms. My A3s have a larger soundstage and more laid back vocals when using the Z5 compared to my iPod Touch and iPhone4S. Can't say much about headphones since i'm not a fan of headphones and amps because of portability...

  The upgrade cable + spinfits fits perfectly for me, but still it sticks out making it unwearable during sleep or physical activities. Though need to be extra careful while wearing them because the upper part cable is thin and no strain reliefs compared to the stock cable.

This is really personal tho, it fits perfectly for me with the spinfit+upgrade cable compared to the stock cable.

So they feel,look,fit and even sound better than the Sennheiser IE80. The catch is they cost about 55$, seems like these Oneplus Icons have a lot going for as a hifi earphone. The ad is really cringeworthy tho, looking forward to the impressions on the sound quality of them.

The cable provides sonic improvement for both the Z5 & A3 so getting the upgrade cable for either one is recommended unless you prefer the fit of the stock cable.

Well, its the single ended sony upgrade cable MUC-M12SM1 , only got to audition the balanced cable with A3+PHA-3 and it sounds better but i don't own a balanced amp so i ended up with the single ended cable.

Until u get the upgrade cable for A3, Z5=A3 but still if amped Z5>A3. The Sony upgrade cable is the first upgrade cable which i heard that really made an improvement in SQ compared to other third party cables i tried, Z5,A3 or even H3 users should get them. Tighter bass, clearer vocals, airier...

  Yep the spinfit opens up the soundstage and the bass will decrease a little while the sony hybrids have a smaller soundstage compared to the spinfits and the trebles aren't airy like the spinfits. But still i gotta say you need to try them for yourself to see whether it works for you. I...

Congrats on your first ever serious earphone purchase dude, the CKR9s are definitely a pair of great earphones.

Nooo, don't use the foam eartips. Although isolation is increased, the overall sound will become less detailed.

I find their bass quantity almost the same except for the H3's bass being boomier and bleeds into the mids which made me stay away from them at the time they were released.

Overall they don't sound neutral, its they are v-shaped sounding but the mids sounds really neutral that's what i'm trying to say (not good at explaining )

Hmmm i think a better explanation will be they are neutral sounding with a v-shaped sound meaning the middle v-curve is not that deep i guess? Edit: It's like they have a neutral frequency response with extended bass and highs at the end

Nice review mate, btw i agree with them sounding neutral. The special thing bout the A3 & Z5 is they sound really neutral & uncolored although they are v-shaped sounding earphones with deep bass and bright highs.
