Looking For Comfortable Headphones
AWESOME recommendations, luv....THANK YOU! I own ATH-M50's. Only thing I've done to them after many years was recently replace the pads with the Brainwavz leather jobbies. Very nice upgrade to the comfort. Much nicer on the ears. I run my HD650's out of a Ygg >> Woo WA7, but to be frank...- HemiSam

Looking For Comfortable Headphones
My apologies...a deal on a CLOSED BACK, wired, over the ear, easy to drive, fairly neutral and well built cans. The HD6XX's are hard to drive. I own 650's...love them but I have serious amps. I'll check out the purple hearts on MD now.... Thanks to GT, luvmusic, and RoMee! Thank you Deals...- HemiSam

Looking for a super comfortable for long listening sessions pair of wired, over the ear headphones that are easily driven by a phone / laptop and have good construction quality for a college student...male at that. Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
I've used FromJapan over the years with some success. I went ahead and ordered them through them. I'll post up how that goes once they arrive. A heck of a lot less expensive... HS- HemiSam

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
Thank you. Yes, I did that and best I found was $114/pair without shipping. I was hoping someone had located a more reasonably priced source. If an opportunity arises for purchasing via Japan I will take it, but my business no longer takes me or peers to Asia Pacific I'm afraid. HS- HemiSam

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
I have to admit I could not keep up with this thread so forgive what is likely a question that has been covered previously. I need a pair of replacement earpads as they are splitting at the seam on my son's Z7's that have gotten a lot of use of the last few years. Clearly not an inexpensive...- HemiSam

That's very helpful, phthora...thank you. EDIT: So if my son mostly uses them out of his Mac Air and on occasion his iPhone, the 80 ohm is OK? I was thinking the 32 16 ohm might be more practical. HS- HemiSam

You guys are AWESOME...thank you! So if I am buying one for my son that I'm fairly confident is inclined towards a V shape sound sig with the the bass boom of a closed back phone (hip hop type music), is the DT-770 the best bet of the Beyer's kindly listed above? Really appreciate the...- HemiSam

Deals crew, What is a good price for the Beyer DT-770 Pro 32 ohms? Looks like it tickled $120 using camelcamelcamel but not sure if that was a fluke. Thanks. HS- HemiSam

MrSpeakers Electrostatic Prototype Listening Impressions
My comment still stands vs the e-stats I own, have owned, and have listened to. These are altogether different. @mrspeakers - I think that would serve you better...the use of a quiet room if it is an option. It might limit the exposure to more customers, but whatever serves your...- HemiSam

MrSpeakers Electrostatic Prototype Listening Impressions
You're making the leap that because a headphone is open back is leaks as much as the next. That is absolutely not the case with the headphones I have owned and own today. Period. Have you listened to these and been next to someone that has? HS- HemiSam

MrSpeakers Electrostatic Prototype Listening Impressions
Interesting. We all have our limitations and if it were best sound and no costs I think many would vote speakers. Further, there's a middle ground. My point being there is no middle here. I think potential buyers should have line of sight to this and if it's a non-issue then great...- HemiSam

The Stax SR-L500 and SR-L700 Impressions Thread
I listened to the L300 out of the 252S and out of my KGSSHV Carbon. They are not my flavor and not even close to the 007MK2's IMO. I listened to a pair of 404 Sig's out of an SRM-006t with the only upgrade being tubes and I was far more impressed with them than the L300's. Different...- HemiSam

MrSpeakers Electrostatic Prototype Listening Impressions
I only own the SR-007 Mk2's and the SR-003's. The 007's leak since they're open back, just like my other open backs, but the Mr. Speakers where altogether different. Like a wide open projector. Has that changed? If they leak only like the Stax then they've improved A LOT since I tested...- HemiSam
