HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Good point...I learned to solder in high school shop and have done it maybe a handful of times in the last 20 years...but enjoy doing things like that. I had to transplant my og HE5 driver a total of 2 times. 1st wood cup cracked, 2nd wood cup cracked, finally put them in a plastic cup the third...

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I always felt DTC sounded very 2D left/right and too aggressive until I tried the Dekoni pads. I can't listen without them now.

Moondrop VENUS Planar (and PARA): two surprisingly good orthodynamic headphones at a still reasonable price. Moondrop COSMO Planar: New Flagship.

C'mon guys don't give Moondrop any ideas now...😁 I also bought a dedicated pure copper "upgrade" cable for the Venus. It's the Tripowin GranVia. Tripowin is a Chinese brand known for their high quality low cost IEM cables such as the C8 cable which I own. I think the GranVia is the only...

What pinout do they have? The dual pin is using the tip and sleeve for each channel in mono, even if the connector is stereo. You can use a single pin mono connector on Venus/Para if that's what you mean.

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

It is a easy fix if it's the wire inside the ear cup. You can solder the wire for the ear cup connector to the wire for the driver. If it's a problem with the connector, you can buy just the ear cup from hifiman and transplant the driver.

Moondrop : Venus. .... mini review

I'm still trying to get the right pad dialed in. I have a few cables with the 3.5mm connector and used a Norne and Plussound with Venus but I wasn't doing any comparison. I think the Plussound is pure copper. Will check it out again. Have you seen the ZMF Caldera pads? I think those would fit...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

I've wondered the same and think it has to do with the scarcity of the HE6. From what I remember the HE500 was originally 900 but dropped to around 600 fairly quickly. It was a more accessible headphone for most people at that price. It could also be driven with a moderately powerful headphone...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Just want to throw this out there - I had the fenestrated sheepskin on for the longest time and got some Modhouse Xenon sheepskin in today for another headphone. They didn't fit that headphone so I threw some hifiman rings in and attached to the HE500...3 hours later and I'm still here listening...

I can always trim the lip. Tried them with some other cans and they work well. Thanks for your replies.

Moondrop : Venus. .... mini review

In my picture the Modhouse are on the left. The lip on the back comes out too much and I can't stretch it over the Venus. I watched Zreviews and his pair looks like it has a smaller lip.

Moondrop : Venus. .... mini review

I just got these pads. Did you have to modify them at all so they would fit the Venus? The backing material protrudes out quite a bit more than the original and it's hard to slip then on.

Campfire Chat - Official Campfire Audio 2024 Thread!

The Lyra, Vega, and Dorado lines have been the only IEM’s I can wear for more than a few minutes without discomfort in my ear, and I tried many. Thank you guys for making my mid afternoon walk a delight for the past 8 years. True Gents.

Moondrop VENUS Planar (and PARA): two surprisingly good orthodynamic headphones at a still reasonable price. Moondrop COSMO Planar: New Flagship.

My drivers look fine as well, smooth no wrinkles. I don't think this has to be from some sort of rough handling of the driver housing. Yes the outside is sturdy, but what about pressure buildup in the headphone when putting it on? When I applied my new pads I could feel the pressure buildup...

Yes quite concerning. I still have essentially until the end of January to return my "loaner" unit as it was purchased through Amazon during black friday. But I really don't want to do that especially after the recent pad swap. Besides these DO have a 1 year warranty? Or is it 3? Wish it was...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Any time I put the HE500 on after a listening session with other cans, no matter how purportedly good or expensive the other headphones are, is like breathing new life into the music. They are my quintessential "reference" headphone for anything Jazz related which accounts for the majority of my...
