^Agreed on the mushy tips It's really hard to tell the difference from just looking at a couple of photos, especially without comparison with real ones or a hands on.- wangwang

- Audio Technica. Got given a pair of CKM500's by my mum (still have them lying around) and greatly preferred them to the stock ear buds from Apple :P - Currently using the CKR-9's but really miss my Yamaha EPH-100s. Had a beautiful shell (albeit a bit uncomfortable)and had tight bass with a...- wangwang

Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread
I found that extending it made clamping a bit tighter (not by much though). I've actually slowly starting to extend it out and found it to be a lot more comfortable in general. I used to get really bad headaches but it has gotten way better now.- wangwang

If you have any other earphones or headphones available you might want to just double check whether its the recording or the earphones themselves.- wangwang

Review of Audio Technica ATH-CKR9 & ATH-CKR10
Awesome review man, probably should get out of here before I spend all my money but you make them sound so good D: Guess I'll have to wait till the end of the year when I go back to Taiwan because there's no way I'm going to be able to get either of them here in NZ :(- wangwang

Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread
Recently got a pair of 558's, at the beginning I was a little off put by the long as stock cable. BUUUT I have come to realize how useful it is to have such a long cable in my dorm room, I can literally move around the whole room with out uplugging XD although that monstrous jack I just can not...- wangwang

Review by 'wangwang' on item 'Sennheiser HD 558'
First review but here goes :P The Sennheiser HD 558 comes with a 3m detachable cable, a 6.5mm to 3.5mm converter and the headphones themselves. Comfort and Build: Although the headphones themselves are made entirely of plastic it doesn’t feel like the cheap plastic. In fact the build...- wangwang

Yamaha EPH-100
Well in addition to contacting eBay I also contacted Yamaha and they say "it sounds like they are displaying all the characteristics of a counterfeit product". and I definitely think the fineness of the grooves are they biggest giveaway. When compared to the original ones they become more...- wangwang

Yamaha EPH-100
Hmmm now that plants a thought of doubt into my mind. Although on mine I can see the grooves quite clearly and the markings are also painted. That would be fine if there was no buzzing but I think it's safer to just return them and got my refund :P- wangwang

Yamaha EPH-100
Thanks guys, contacted eBay and just waiting to see what happens now. I didn't really get to spend much time actually listening to them haha buuuuuuut from what I can tell the bass definitely lacks a bit of punch (from memory anyway). Instrument separation has also taken a few steps backwards...- wangwang

Yamaha EPH-100
So I believe that I have a very similar situation. I also purchased a pair from ebay (probably should have been more careful) and the end product is exactly the same as in these photos. Extremely prominent grooves on the housings compared to the smooth body on my legitimate pair. I'm pretty...- wangwang
