@lin0003 I wish I could, but I'm from the Philippines and sending it to hifiman will easily cost as much as the iem itself. I'll try my luck at the store I bought them from though. @getclikinagas just the local audiophile store I bought it from, Egghead. I think the owner has a head-fi account.

Review by 'AvidlyEclectic' on item 'HiFiMAN RE-400'

***This is a tl;dr: review. please refer to other reviews for a more in-depth analysis on their amazing sound.*** For $100, you simply won't be getting anything better sound-wise than these cans, and a lot of happy owners will back me on this one. The mids are heavenly, the treble is smooth yet...

    SoundMagic E50 & E80 - Story of Two Magicians - A Review...

Zelda, I've read your Hifiman RE400 review and you raved about them too. How does the E80 compare to the Hifiman? edit: didn't see the comparison above, sorry

    Marshall Major II Impressions?

Hello, has anyone heard the Major II's? I quite like the design when I saw in a store, but I didn't have the time to try them. So, how does it fare relative to the price? (~$90)

Why do most headphones have recessed mid range?

Because most headphones come from corporation-run manufacturers that value the mainstream customer's tastes (emphasized treble and bass, recessed mids) than reproducing true, accurate sound with their products. Full disclosure: I am new to audiophilia and I am not an industry analyst. Cheers!

    Looking for new Over-ear Headphones

Heard the HD 429/439 once. Pretty good if you can get them for $50-60. The 439 is bassier, but still controlled. I really, really suggest you check out the competition at a headphone store. If you decide to go with the '429,' do note that the cable is not detachable and is a whopping 10ft long...

Wondering if the NVX XPT100 would be good for me

I'd recommend th Senn HD 439. Heard them at a store and they are pretty balanced with just a right amount of bass. They're closed but I heard somewhere they had good soundstage. Very comfy velour pads. They can be had for $50-$60 at Amazon, although I suggest you find a headphone store and try...

Sennheiser HD 439 or Superlux HD 681 EVO?

Have them now too. Have to agree, they seem durable.

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

Hello, fellow Superlux fans! I have a question. Do you guys hear anything terribly wrong with the mids/bass of your EVOs? I've been reading through a lot of websites lately, mainly to look into mods, earpads, etc when I found this thread outside Head fi saying the EVOs have an unpleasant...

    FiiO's paired with different devices/OSes?

@cel4145 hello! Thanks for the replies. By apple devices do you mean the E6 will work with the shuffle? How about the ace? The E6 comes with a stock line out cable, not a USB one. Thanks in advance!

Sennheiser HD 439 or Superlux HD 681 EVO?

Went with the superlux's guys. Pretty comfy and of average build quality. It sounds good even unamped from an ipad. I also did buy the Koss's and will be using them on the go. Thanks for the advices! *I found the EVO's to have better sq than the clip-ons, but they are too big for moble use...

    FiiO's paired with different devices/OSes?

I understand that, in android, sound does come out of the amps, but it is double amped from the android's stock amp and the external one. It's quite confusing and if anyone would be so kind to explain...

    FiiO's paired with different devices/OSes?

Hello, I've been itching to get my hands on a Fiio E6 for my Superlux HD681 EVO. However, I became worried because i read somewhere in the forums that Fiios and mobile amps in general have spotty compatibility with android so... I have the following devices. Will all of them work without any...

Sennheiser HD 439 or Superlux HD 681 EVO?

Any second thoughts guys? I'm a cash-strapped college student and this decision will probably make my last step into audiophilia till i graduate.

Sennheiser HD 439 or Superlux HD 681 EVO?

Have you heard both? I'm more interested in their SQ. Build quality is not much of a concern (unless it's 'that' bad) because this will stay inside.

Sennheiser HD 439 or Superlux HD 681 EVO?

Hi, I guess the title summarizes my ordeal. Basically, These three are the only ones I can afford (they're discounted in a local headphones store, at anextremely low price) If anyone has both headphones to test, please do compare them. Thanks!

Sennheiser HD 429 or Griffin Woodtones Over-ears??

Hi, I've scoured the internet for over ear headphones that are a pleasant mix of sonic qualities. Basically, I've narrowed down my search to the two headphones mentioned above(mainly because I found them on eBay for ~$50, or half their SRPs) If anyone has both headphones for a comparison, please...

    SOL Republic Tracks HD (Review)

SOL Republic Tracks HD (Review) I've always wondered why everyone here at Head-fi, regardless of brand, are prejudiced against "fashion" headphones. I was one of those people too until I got a pair of these Tracks HDs. Build As you would have read in other reviews, the whole Tracks line stands...
