Lotoo PAW S2 USB DAC AMP 150 mW@32 ohm 4.4 , MQA - New Firmware released 26 January 2.0.0.5 link added first post.

I just fixed my own problem. keeping Tidal open in the background solves the stutter when switching apps. So basically now to me, there is no SQ difference between UAPP and Tidal. Static dat sound at the start of MQA songs remains with both apps, tho. Usability wise, I would like to point out...

Lotoo PAW S2 USB DAC AMP 150 mW@32 ohm 4.4 , MQA - New Firmware released 26 January 2.0.0.5 link added first post.

Using S2 with Tidal on S21 Ultra. I can't hear difference between UAPP and Tidal, both in bit perfect mode. However, with Tidal, there is a half a second pause everytime I open other apps. The pause becomes a faint "dat dat" sound while MQA being played. And with both UAPP and Tidal, there is...

I own a W2 and still pulled the trigger on S2. After weeks of listening with Hifiman RE800 single ended, I could say I prefer the sound signature of S2. It gives lushier mids, from vocal to instruments such as violin. Engaging. W2, on the other hand, is cooler and more transparent, offering a...

Because of the Ldac 990kbps problem, I put my btr3 aside. Then I started to experiment with different settings with wired. To me Hifiman's Re800s match quite well with the following setting. Dolby OFF, UHQA ON (Bit Upscaling only, not with the bandwidth one), No EQ, Adapt Sound ON (Under 30 -...

Thank you for testing. Disappointed to hear this. I was thinking to switch to Exynos. My previous phone, Mate 20, works normally. It even remembers my 990 setting without the need to revert it back again. However, the big brother Mate 20X stutters at 990, too. I wonder what the problem is.

With Qualcomm S10e, Btr3 is working fine if I just simply connect it. But when I set the bitrate at 990 under developers options, problem arises. I would really like to know if this happens to Exynos S10 too.

Qualcomm S10e here. Btr3 stutters badly with Ldac 990kbps bitrate. 660 is fine, tho. I'm dissapointed.

    The Official Sennheiser IE800S thread!

As far as I know, living close to China and surfing their shopping sites and headfi forums a lot, fakes have not come out yet. But I think soon. It's just a matter of time. Btw, T8ie have counterfeits being sold right now. Looks like Xelento is not far from being copied too.

    The Official Sennheiser IE800S thread!

For anyone who is interested in the follow-up. I wrote to Sennheiser Germany and they have reconfirmed the price of IE800S' Y cable plus two capsules: around 750 USD globally, varied with currency conversion. It's more than double of IE800's repair price. Take good care of your beloved ie800s...

They accidentally hit on the wall and then fell. They are under warranty and I know I'm responsible. But Sennheiser Hong Kong still charges around 750 USD for the Y cable plus earphones while IE800's only costs around 350. I don't understand this insane price. I have managed to get an old pair...

Plan to buy Q5 to pair with IE800 S on the go. Could anyone shed some light on which amp module I should get. Considering between am3b and am5.

Best Smartphone for audiophile Part II (Updated: Jan 2020)

Since I ditched my player, I've been using V30 for some time. P20 Pro came in a few days ago. It's own hi-fi dac decodes up to 32/384. This phone, to my amazement, sounds very sweet straight from USB type c (with their converter). I listen to iems like ie800s, no background noise, enough power...

    LG V30

My unlocked V30 hasn't got a chance to upgrade to Oreo. But I am quite curious about Ldac. If I connect my V30 to Ldac supported device, playing Tidal MQA songs, is it still playing bit perfect (completely unfolding MQA), or music will be resampled by Android and at what sample rate can it be...

    LG V30

I pulled the trigger on V30. Pair it with ie800s. No regrets! IE800S + Aux mode + UAPP + Tidal MQA is a bliss. And how convenient! Sold my DX200 with amps and happily see myself retired from bulky players. Though V30 can't stand toe to toe with high-grade dedicated players, it has a pleasant...

I'm choosing betwenn a v30 and a v30+. I know v30 can stream MQA via Tidal Android app but not sure about v30+ (regardless of UAPP app). And also, will v30 Oreo update have LDAC support? Thanks in advance :)

    DX200=Affordable High End Audio. Dual ES9028Pro dacs. AMP1, AMP3, AMP5, AMP7 & AMP8 ***Firmware support now up for AMP9***

Aftet some time of listening, I prefer ie800s with amp4 more. It keeps all the details, less bassy, less mid centric but more holographic and organic. No listening fatique. I would call it neutral and referential. The only thing I'm not satisfied is when paired with neutral earphones like...

The new uapp is buggy but sounds fantastic! (using direct hires driver), which means we don't have to turn on lurker's USB audio app?? And I'm still hoping mqa decoding could be added to dx200!

    The Official Sennheiser IE800S thread!

Bought this baby at an airport two weeks ago. This pair of in-ear is the most balanced yet engaging one I've ever heard (Paired with Dx200 Amp3/Amp4). Amp4 has a fit issue with Pentagon 4.4 jacks which Sennheiser employs. Just cut a very thin ring off from the base of any unwanted silicon...

My Ca02 broke after first day of use. I would suggest you go alter your cable to 4.4 directly if you are sure that is the sound you want. And for those who's considering Pentaconn 4.4, don't buy. You would have to diy a bit to make it work like mine, and I'm not the only one. Go for other brands...

I hear the same. It finally suits all my needs. And just as importantly, better bass control than amp3. My personal preferance: amp4 > amp1 > amp3 > amp2

I'm hearing exactly the same. Amp3 overdrives my IEM (t8ie) too, causing too much bass. I don't think it's a good match for high sensitivity/low impedance, bass rich dynamic driver IEMs.

My t8ies, paired with AMP1 balanced out, becomes very musical and still non-fatiquing under firmware 2.5.141. I rarely can hear change of sound signature between firmwares except this latest one. But for the acclaimed AMP3 (now at 50 hours of burn-in), my opinion differs. It doesn't have good...
