no, I have not. I'm not really sure how either. I guess I'll have my dad send me that stuff too. Do they come with extra filters, I don't remember? I know they have the filter changing tool.

    Any Dick's Picks Fans?

5-8-77 is so well circulated because it sounds AMAZING! And it only got better with the Eaton Remaster. Anyway, yeah I have a ton of Dead shows and Phish shows. Check out my list at www.phishhook.com/lists/Musiclover4 if you want to see what I have. I need to update, but if you're wondering...

    Any Dick's Picks Fans?

Andrew, No, I fully appreciate the generosity of bands like Phish, the Dead, and many other jambands who allow taping and even better those who actively take part in distributing the board recordings of their shows. And don't worry, I own plenty of commerical cds (in excess of 300 or so). I...

    Any Dick's Picks Fans?

wow, fellow Grateful Dead fans. I'm a huge fan of Phish, the Dead, ABB, and other jambands and I've been trading and downloading shows for about a year. There is an amazing amount of Grateful Dead live material to trade and download. I would recommend checking out gdlive.com and a program...

    Who Loves Pavement?

do I like the best band of the 90s? yes, I do. I love Phish. but honestly, I do like Pavement. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is my fav Pavement album too. It's pretty much consistently very good throughout.

    Looking for Vibraphone music

Charlie Hunter and Pound for Pound. Charlie Hunter plays a customized instrument called a bassitar, which has bass strings and 5 guitar strings, so he plays bass and guitar simultaneously. In this incarnation of his band called Pound for Pound, he has a guy playing vibes. I have a couple of...

    Upsampling DACs

Joe, the DIO does not have any upsampling. If I remeber correctly, it, like many pro audio units, has 128x oversampling. The clock select is purely to determine if the master clock is derived from the DIO itself or the transport in external sync mode. From what I understand, I have to side...

Getting the most "tubeiness" for your money

MirandaX, Unfortunately, it does not. I am starting to think a cheap diy passive attenuator and a diy tube amp might be the way to go. The ASL wave 8's look really interesting, and I would get them if I knew they would drive my speakers, but 89 db efficency with only 8wpc might be too little.

Getting the most "tubeiness" for your money

I have an Art Dio and Sound Dynamics RTS3 speakers and have been thinking of adding tubes into my system (I have never even had separates). I have been thinking of a few possibilities with this and I would like some more responses from people who know about this more than me; of course, my...

    Progressive Rock?

Just jumping in the thread late, but I would like some prog rock recommendations. Radiohead is probably my favorite band, esp The Bends and then OK Computer, and I've also listened to Pink Floyd quite a bit. I don't like metal at all, so I would much rather have prog rock recommendations than...

    OK Computer

schiss, you said it perfectly. Thom Yorke in my opinion is the king of sarcasm. No Surprises goes one step further than his usual sarcasm by having such a sweet, peaceful melody that contrasts with what the song really seems to be about, which is being stuck in a situation so predictable you...

    Best/favorite Rock albums

George, Are you joking? I have to disagree. The early 70s was the greatest period in the history of rock. The Allman Brothers Band were fantastic with Duane Allman, who is my favorite guitarist of all time. After Duane died there really wasn't much reason to listen to them, but Live at the...

    Radiohead - really digging in.

The Bends is probably my favorite rock album of all time. I think it strikes a perfect balance between straightforward rock and atmospheric touches. All the poetry analyses we did in AP English have paid off, because at first I thought the lyrics were just nonsense, but now I understand them...

Need Help with DIY Binaural Mic

I am interested in making a binaural mic to measure the impulse responses in my room. I have looked a bit on the internet, but I was a bit unsure of what all I would have to do and what kind of quality the finished product would have. I would plan on hooking this up to the A/D section in...

    Anyone like Widespread Panic?

I honestly think that this is the most underrated band out there. Doesn't anyone else like this band? Because they are so talented individually, they are able to mix it up quite a bit on their albums and they don't repeat the same album with slightly different lyrics and arrangements that so...

ART DI/O word clock output to sync external source?

Kaiwei, please post your results as soon as you get your DIO. This may finally make me decide to spend the money to get a new sound card.

ART DI/O word clock output to sync external source?

Kaiwei, Why don't you Just try it out? I am interested in your findings because that would be a great idea if it worked. I would try it, but I don't have a digital input on my sound card until I get around to replacing it.
