Need opinion with new surround headphone

Sounds like he's got his mind made up of these 5.1 crapcans for gaming. Too bad he doesn't understand soundstage etc. I would recommend Beyerdynamic DT770Pro80 or Audio Technica A700 or A900 for gaming. Those cans are also great for music and movies, and tend to have more bass then most cans...

    Which headphones!!?!? Help!!!

sound 595s gaming a900s Thought the 595 are pretty good at gaming, just the a900s are better at it. A900 are better for movies. Music 595 wins hands down especially paired w/ a good amp.

    I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT!

Sorry to burst your bubble a little, but I don't feel the HD515 are good headphones, I've had them before giving them away. I couldn't even sell them I was so ashamed by their sound. But on the bright side, I loved my HD485 when I had those. The 485 are >>>>>>>> 515s!!!!!!!!! You should perhaps...

Best open headphones for less than $200?

The AD700s are very good and don't need an amp. They just don't have as much bass as their closed brothers the A700/900s. And it seems to be you are looking for bass.

    Looking for VERY comfortable headphones

A500/700 - AD700 if comfort is your main concern. They are big though and not very portable.

    Not your typical quesiton thread...

You say a $150 budget, hmm why not just get a really good MP3 + headphones? Your cell will never sound good, trust me. I have a sanyo MM9000 (one of the best cell phones ever made) and well its got above average sound quality for a cell phone, but the sound of mp3s just suck from it. I mean $20...

    Looking for suggestions

AD700 are also a great can. They do lack some of the bass of the A700 but make up for it via better mids and a very airy sound.

    Good gaming headset

Don't listens to the gaming noobs jk, you should really look into something like a Sennheiser HD485. They go for around $60-70. They don't need an amp, have good soundstage and bass. They are open BTW so if you need the isolation of closed cans then I'd look elsewhere.

    Looking for suggestions

There aren't large differenced from A700 to A900. Most peeps on here say the A700 is 90% of a A900.

    DT770 vs. HD595

The HD595 don't require an amp either. But both the HD595 and DT770Pro80's sound a lot better w/ an amp. Whereas the A900 doesn't really sound any better w/ an amp.

    DT770 vs. HD595

All 3, DT770Pro80, A900, HD595 are great cans. Its like picking from a BMW, Audi, or Mercedes. They are all sweet just look and perform slightly different then one another. On that note get the A900's! Why you ask... well I think its the best of both worlds, good bass, soundstage, comfortable...

    Are Grados suited for Classical?

AKG 501/601/701, don't kid yourselves w/ classical + grado. They just don't work as well as the AKG cans.

    Which headphones should I get?

x2 A500, a great gaming can, awesome soundstange and powerful bass. Closed and extremely comfortable. Doesn't need an amp either. Good for music, amazing for movies. And for $90 a really good value.
