I have the ER4SR (2016) (and ER4S [2004]), but you have captured my experience perfectly! The ER4SR are a bit easier to drive than the ER4S. I purchased a custom balanced cable and couldn't be happier. Enjoy! Cheers... Brian

For over 15 years I have used the triple-flange tips on ER4S and ER4SR. I have never been bothered by the fit or comfort (one of the lucky ones) and still consider these the reference standard for my IEM listening. Cheers... Brian

ER4P is the same as ER4S except for the nominal in-line impedance. ER4P has a nominal impedance of 27 Ohm while the ER4S has 100 Ohm. You can get the Etymotic ER38-24 adapter to bring the ER4P up to 100 Ohm. I believe that the ER4PT model included the adapter. (see here) Cheers... Brian
